I received my Rcat Thursday. Haven't used it yet, but am impressed with it so far just on appearance. This thing is a real piece of equipment. Very happy I dropped the coin. The service was great, I ordered on Monday and had it on Thursday. Maybe Wednesday, I was out of town Wed/Thur it was there when I got home.
The Tag Line has more to do with my computer experience than anything but also fits my Helicopter hobby. Probably 90% self inflicted in both cases.
Definitely not the Rcat.

Hi guys

I finally ordered mine. It took me a long time. My old single nicad has been working fine....and i just couldn't justify something that was not really required.

On my last outing i couldn't start my ys90. I thought it was the glow. Tried an old plug just to see if it glowed....it did so nicad ok, wiggled the glow extention, no good....new plug, no good.... It took me a while to find that my dx7 was on min throttle trim.....dumb @ss....

I just kept thinking: when did i charge the nicad, is it actually glowing etc, etc, etc I now NEEDED a Rcats glow driver.

Hi guys

Got mine today.

One issue, If i connect a glow plug and then push the button, I get the bar graph but no glow....If i push the button and then connect the glow plug, it works fine.

It is not a problem to have to push the button and then connect, but if the timer runs out and i want to continue attempting to start, i must disconnect, push the button and then re-connect. The second question is if i connect and then push the button, why do i get the bar graph and no glow ?

Is this normal ? The instructions say you connect then push the button....

Anyone else had this problem ?

That is not normal. I have not had that problem.

Are you using a remote glow adapter?

On mine the display graph will not light if the circuit is not complete, this is how you can tell if you plug is dead.

If display graph is being shown and the plug isn't being lit I suspect you have a short somewhere. Have you tried testing it with a plug out of the engine and directly connected to the unit so you can see the plug glow red?

It is fully charged and it is connected directly onto a new glow plug.

I must have a problem unit.

That's interesting. I still have not tried mine yet. Been too busy with everything else life can through at me. Hope it works when I get time. Sounds like they will take care of it if there is a problem though.

They only ship instantly if they have product in stock. There was a defect with the early units and I needed to send mine in for a replacement. They didn't have any in stock at the time and I had to wait a while for a replacement. Hopefully inventory is better now.

This thing is TOPS.I can start all my nitro toys within two starts.For eg ,yesterday ,I was zip starting my Kyosho Giga Crusheer (anyone know what this is ??) and first pull ,straight away engine to life..then other instances ,Freya 70,Shuttle and Hawk pro, two spins of the starter .
The old 12 v battery and power panel cannot be compared .
You may even be surprised that your needle settings were indeed correct and it was the power to the glow plug all the time...

Just my personal experience.

My 'new' glow driver works fantastically. When anyone at the field is having starting problems......they look over to me for this glow driver. Takes the guessing out of the glow issue.
