Anyone flying a Fury 50? If so, how do you have it setup?

I did

I flew the Fury 50 Expert all last summer. It was a great flying ship. I used a MP and it gave it adiquate power. With the SAB 640 it flew like a 60 and auto'd very well (not quite like a 60 but close). the ship was stock with 8101 servos a 401/9253 and I ran 22% cool power (I mixed 30 and 15). The engine died the week before x-mas as the plastic fan slid off from the fan hub. The factory assemble of the fan unit never got the two grub screws set into the dimples on the fan hub. So after about 60 flights (very long flight with the 16 oz tank) the fan slid off and reduced the fan output a lot. The engine started to blow plugs ever 3 to 4 flights then every flight. On the 75th flight it was dead. Over all it is a great ship to learn smoothness with. It is not overpowered and if you think smooth while flying it can teach a lot. the OS 50 and MP was able to pull +-10 deg of pitch with the SAB 640's at 167 grams. The Fury is one of the better ships to fly backwards due to the canopy shape.

Fury 50

I too have a Fury 50 but I am using a V-Tech pipe (the MP's predecessor). I am running NHP 620's on mine and it is a blast to fly. I also have a GV1 govenor installed "just because" and it all works well.

Jason K. has flown it and he wrung it out as it were. It is a very capable machine and will teach you to be smooth.

Enjoy!

I'm curious, what was the weight of your machines? I plan on running 600mm blades, os 50, and MP.

Weight

Don't know the weight....and I think 600's might be a little short. I am considering moving to 640's.....

I am new to the list, should be receiving my Fury 50 Expert tomorrow, but back to the point, where do you find the 640's, I am not having much luck finding them.

Fury 50

My fury 50 weighed in at 9 lb 1 oz. It did not have a GV1. The 600 are to small. It flew OK with them but auto'd like a 30 with wood blades. Get the V-blades 620 or the SAB 640's and you will not regret it. They are available but I do not know where. I have just completed the conversion of my 50 to a 60 and I have 2 sets of SAB 640's as well as a 50 sized boom/torque tube and the engine mounts and lower frame cross member for sale.

Swash Head;

I have the 50 expert also and I am thinking of getting the Cutis Muscle pipe. I am currently running MS 600mm blades, little reserves in an
auto . So I ordered some 640mm blades.

THe only 3 places you may find these 640 SAB blades are MA or Cyberheli.com or www.yntdesign.com. I ordered mine from yntdesign
you can email Sheldon he get them for you smarkest@yntdesign.com
