Aerobatic 3D Contest > Funnel (clockwise or counter clockwise)

Hi . I am doing well on the sim and want to try in real life . I've choosed my Raptor Titan for the test flight (Cause I don't want to crash my Vibe ) . However, I couldn't figure out which way to enter . Clockwise or counter clockwise ? In most of the videos I've seen that folks are doing clockwise funnels . But I feel more comfortable in counter clockwise . Does it matter whether it is clockwise or counter clockwise ?

Thanks for the answers .

I suppose this also depends on whether you're doing the funnel tail-down or nose-down and whether the skids are in or out.

In my ugly attempts I find that counter-clockwise is easier for tail-down funnels and clockwise is easier for nose-down when the skids are facing out.

Makes absolutely no difference. Do whatever direction is comfortable at first and then work on the other direction.

I'll do tail down and skids in funnel.

Thanks again

do you sustain the funnel only by using constant roll input with somteimes a nick input for the height? or do you constantly use a roll and a nick input for sustaining it.

I hope you know what I mean

I am doing them tail down skids in and skids out. I prefer the counter clockwise direction but once I mastered them one direction the other is easier to be done (not as perfect though as the prefered direction).

I think there is not any manouver in helicopters that can be done without constantly making tiny corrections. At least in my case I am constantly adjusting the roll and elevator in order to get a nice looking funnel.

Efficiency is slightly better when left rudder is used instead of right rudder. In other words, for best efficiency (less load on motor and battery for a given speed) use the following directions:

tail down/up skids inward - clockwise
tail down/up skids outward - counterclockwise
