Anyone from around the area of Schaumburg and/or Rockford who knows where the flying field is in both these cities? Any inputs since I am new in this area?

There are a few in the Schaumburg area or close by.

1. Busse Woods, Schaumburg - off of Golf Rd and Route 53.

2. Hoffman Estates - dont know name of flying field but its on Shoe Factory Road, about a mile off of Golf Rd. Very nice field.

3. Deer Grove, Palatine - forest preserve on the corner of Hicks and Dundee. They dont like us heli pilots there too much...

4. Addison - about 15 minutes from Schaumburg. Heli-only field. www.nircha.com

5. Rockford - http://www.rvrcflyers.com/

Hey Guys,

I found the flying fields... thanks alot. They're great.

Now any hobby shops that sells heli parts around Schaumburg or Hoffman Estates or even Rockford besides Al's Hobby Shop in Elmhurst. They seem to have very limited heli parts there. Any inputs. Thanks.

Venture Hobbies in Wheeling has some parts, but they are pretty limited. Mostly trex 450 from what I saw.

hey bmw,

i just saw the link to the club... but did not see anyone with helis. is it an airplane only field or are they even cool with helis?

There are two fields in Rockford.
The park district on Harrison rd on the west side and Kieselburg forest preserve on the north end.
We only have a Hobbytown with not much for parts.
Al's is very good.....
If you looked on line, it seems kinda weak.
