I thought it might be that both helis are flying towards each other, then both pull up into a vertical climb and touch the landing gear together in a "Kiss of Death".

Years ago I heard that Robert Gorham did the "kiss of death". At that time, it was when you hovered your heli nose in, and then you kissed the front of the canopy!!

Cheers from NZ!

yep KOD is amazing. both helis do tailstand launches (at least i think they are tailstand launches, full backwards takeoff with an upside down launch) aiming at each other, with maybe 15 feet or less between them.

Axeman,

Yes,that was Robert Gorham that kissed the front of his Cricket canopy.

He did that at the Novato flying site many years ago.

Last I saw,he was flying for TSK,Futaba and YS. I believe that was at a Bakersfield funfly back in '92 or '94.

Yes,back when the best gyro was a 153BB. The hot engine was a OS 61 SFN ABC. The 60 heli to own was a MA1003 Custom.

Sorry about my jog down memory lane. Funny looking back on those days

You've been doing this since back then? For me then, the dream machine was a green Shuttle and an awesome Futaba 5-NLH with a 152 gyro. That MA machine was WAYYYYYY out of our price range then.....
