The parrot is recovering, the heli was destroyed.

I bet that parrot is more expensive to crash than the Trex450

I saw what had happened on that day. Also I had that same encounter about 4 months ago when that same bird flew by by heli and missing the heli by about 3 feet away.

The lady should not have been flying the bird there in the first place after she was warned and kick out about a couple month ago and came back that on that day.

The field was designed to only fly r/c plane & heli's. Nothing else like kites, model rocket, r/c cars, parasail or gliders. Like I said nothing else. Mainly after she was warned.

The way I see it is that she's at fault from the start. That's the bottom line.

Heads up, it's my turn to crash & burn , NOT EVEN

The lady should be kept in a cage, not the bird for crying out loud
How can you take a parrot to a flying field knowing full well the dangers of blades howling through the wind. She doesn't deserve the company of a parrot in my book.

XRHRD,
Just who is this lady to have special privileges?
Is she a celebrity or a pilots girlfriend or what?

I am an animal lover, (mostly dogs) I do feel bad for the bird, mainly for the reason that it WAS a pet.
I dont want to sound like a tree hugger or anything.
Yes, I do enjoy eating animals.
I support hunting, fishing, and the harvesting of wild game in general.
I was raised the son of an avid sportsman, hunter, fisherman, fur trapper... I also believe that PETA is an acronym for "People for the Eating of Tasty Animals"

Anyways, (as ^^^ is all irrelevant) after reading this post:

XRHRD and everyone else,

I think you need to jump on the bird forum and explain to them over there what REALLY happened.
I dont know what forum it is, nor have I made an attempt to find it,
but I can only imagine the people over there discussing how EVIL R/C heli's are...

Someone needs to expose that woman to her friends on the bird forum, so they can see what kind of pet owner she really is.
I am sure they would LOVE to hear your side of the story.

She is the kind of pet owner that would let her dog run in traffic, or let the gold fish try to walk on the living room carpet

On the topic of birds I gotta share this. I used to breed birds when I was a kid (12) I'm 30 now. I sold off all my birds and kept one sweet cinimon cockatiel I had raise from an egg. She had never had her wings cliped or never put in a cage. She just lived in the house with us and even my pit loved her. Well 2 years ago we had to house sit another bird and while they were moving in the cage my bird flew out the door. We were all heartbroken but I'm in Tampa so a tropical bird can survive outside but It's unlikely cause she was the clutziest bird I had ever seen. She always crashlanded anywhere she went. Well last year she showed back up in my tree and she had lost all her cheek color and here feathers were a lil rough but she looked great! I tried to climb to here but when I got about 1 foot away she took off. There is no doubt it was here we heard her doing "her chirp" at 7am outside just like she had done in our house for the previous 15 years. This is a totally true story and I just thought I'd share it with all the bird owners posting.

I have also had my fair share of hookbills.

It is normal for people to free flight the larger hookbills such as the blue and gold mcaws, greenwing and hyacinth mcaws.

It is much healthier and does alot for the longevity of these large birds when they are free flighted. Very similar to letting your dog off its leash when they get tired and run all of theyre energy out they come back home. Same for these large parrots. People have them trained to return to some sort of whistle others just let them come home whenever usually within an hour or two.

It is a shame that two of my loves had to meet in this way. I hope the bird is found and is ok. My hope is this doesnt turn into some kind of PR nightmare and is handled properly.

Its not a maneuver until your looking down on it. ~Jason Krause~ Phoenix FF 08

Ive had a pitbull come sprinting after my rex and the owner just stood there!!!! It took a hard hit into the ground to save the dog, but my rex was hurting, badly. The owner just stood there, put his dog on the leash and tip-toed out of my park while im telling him ,you owe me big time buddy, and plus its manditory for dogs to be on leashes at my park!!!
