The talk around the net
says that gasser popularity is going to increase big time this year.Does anyone know what it is that makes them think that gassers will become more popular?IS it the new engines coming out or new helicopters like the Fury Gasser?

Several factors to consider as to why.. New Engine Technology, Fuel ** definitely very economical to run ** , Clean to run.. no oil mess to clean up. etc...

This is a question for Malorie or Chris Bergen, or anyone else who might know:

Has anyone gotten a starter like this to work on Bergen's gas helis? Particularly on the Twin?

Thanks

not sure if that figure is with battery and switch or just the starting unit itself.

Mm.. that's not too bad even with battery. Benzin can handles it. Don't think that would be much of an issue. Dan has Airwolf packing loads even up to 24 lbs.. still not a problem, hence this slight weight increase should not much of a problem.

I too am building a Dauphin and have one on order for it. I don't think ,looking at the photo's that it will work on the bottom start machines. The assembly mounts where the pull starter is mounted and the actual starter motor protrudes away from the engine , which in these bottom start motors would put into the ground, unless you had real high gear on it. Also all the gears and motor assy are out in the open with no protection from dirt, etc. This starter is more suited ,I think ,for top start, fuselage machines. I'll have to rig a servo operated choke also. Batteries involved might add a good amount of weight. It would be nice though to set the model down walk away from it and start it without touching it again.

Dave:

You should email me. I have no doubt the battery will NOT be a problem, as this was originally made with a NON COMMERCIAL start system that my buddy (and the builder of this heli) made himself.....it worked on the BOTTOM, inside the "tub", and had a seperate battery for starting along with a speed controller. It was not a problem at all. I would also suggest a battery pack or two that will help with balance. James
