"still flyabble" heh heh...like everyday stuff right......

turn up the headspeed (pitch curves/throttle curves) and dull the controls on one of your radio "memories" for the heli

grab a second pair of blades, semi-sym or flat bottom (good luck finding a flat bottom)...blades are like tires, aerobatic blades are "street tires".. (symmetrical blades)

put a real tail fin on the heli to help keeping it in a line and give the t/r break..."gives" power back to the m/r.

theres all kind of stuff you can do!

I was interested about that tail fin thing. I also read somewhere on
here about heading hold and flying slightly skew so the TR slows
the heli down.

I was wondering why my R60 was not as fast as I'd like in FF
before so today I put the gyro in normal mode and it was much
faster! I didn't really notice I was flying skewed before.

nothing beats chucking the HH for speed

if you are going for all out FFF you can use some boom strakes, I tried this recently and thought they made a difference too. its just a long strip along the t/r boom that counteracts some torque for the t/r when you angle it right. stole the idea from NASA....probably our tax dollars anyways heh heh.

any ducted fan guys here? got a new toy yesterday.......

Is there an optimum pitch angle where the heli flies the fastest,
or is it a case of putting the nose down as far as possible until
the heli only just maintains alititude.

I notice on the drag races the heli is very much nose down on
the run, does this also apply for normal FFF.

I've been thinking about that and almost built this chopper that Furious Raptor and I were gonna go head to head for the speed record cuz I'm tired of hearing about him being so fast , figured on tilting the main mast 20 deg, but thats all math and science, needs to be proven...no idea to your question really

asked the same question about 4 months ago and no one fessed up, these other speed freaks dont say much

most of the drag racing is just a matter of piloting and not much of the machine (but theres some guys that got both, sounds kinda expensive for a four second run!)

its embarassing when someone beats you with a "lesser" machine, but fun when you do it to them!
