The 10mm spacer that havehelis is referring to works, its more like a washer that has a 10mm ID to fit over the main shaft, this will drop the autorotation unit down about 1mm and brings the main gear away, I didn't need it on mine, I'm currently running a 007 full carbon kit and one of our RjX 003 demo machines with the 87 tooth main gear, I'm planning to install the 85 tooth gear on the carbon ship next week, my gears on the Hurrican arn't any noisier than any of my other helis in my fleet

All is Now Well.

Hi guys,
Took my niosy bird back to Toby at Take off and Land and the problem is solved. Toby spent 1.5 hours on my bird at no cost and replaced parts at no cost and she is now sweet. Hows that for great service.
The problem was a strange one, the metal clutch was broken in two and must have been like that for i dont know how long. Hence the blades dragging at idle and the noise. Toby adjusted the gear mesh and is a lot better still quite noisy at spool up but hay i can live with that. What amazes me is that it has been flying ok like this.I think i have been very lucky.

I've had a very noisey gear problem on my Hurrican. I have just built a new one for a customer and fitted the upgrade 80T tail gear (black in colour). This has made a BIG difference to the gear noise. The gear is very cheap in the UK and well worth fitting to increase smoothness and reduce that horrible screaching sound.
