| Well, its a common problem and could be as simple as loosening the bearing block screws holding the intermediate gear, realigning the gears so they don't touch, and retightening the screws. Now if you do this and notice play after retightening and/or continued rubbing then you may need to replace the bearing blocks, the gear itself or the frames.
Having this problem myself, I ended upgrading to carbon frames, replacing the bearing blocks and intermediate gear with KSJ parts No.1216 BEARING CASE B and No.1546 UG SECOND GEAR ASSEMBLY. Since then rubbing has stopped with smooth gear mesh and increased performance. |
