THIS PHOTO IS AUTHENTIC, unfortunately........

Actually folks, I'd say that picure is authentic.

1. There was a flash in this photo. His arm casts a shadow on the wall, however, this shadow is at the base of the wall. The heli, which is physically below his arm, is going to cast a shadow on the floor. It does. Moreover, notice this very shadow underneath the heli? It is oriented upright, same as the heli...proving that it's a shadow from the flash, not the helis reflection on the floor (which would be upside down).

2. The actual reflection takes place a few feet from the side-line of the court, i.e. toward us, on the hardwood flooring. You can see a diffuse lighter area on the hardwood about 1" to the left of the moron's right foot, just inside the 3-point line. This is clearly the reflection of the T-Rex's white canopy. It's so diffuse because the heli is a couple feet off the ground.

3. Finally, getting back to the shadows: Notice that the shadow of the T-Rex on the floor and the shadow of the moron's arm on the wall are of the same proportions as the actual object's themselves. This is proof. Furthermore, the shadow of the T-rex and the shadow of the moron's arm/finger meet just below the wall in the photo. Given the rest of the things I mentioned, that means his finger and the T-Rex rotor are touching.

I hate to say it, folks, but this picture is authentic.

450 and my Black Lab

Sometimes it is ok to practice stupid moves, in my case I learned how to back my Trex 450 V2 right up to me in flight, reach up and grab ahold of my landing gear and shut the throttle off by using my mouth, anyhow I have large property and fly out my back dore almost every day, before I fly I make sure my Pit Bull and 1 year old 100lbs Black lab are both in the house. My black lab want to eat my heli every chance she gets, well last week I was flying and she got out, watching the sky just waiting for me to land, if she got ahold of my heli while landing it would do alot of damage to both the heli and the dog. So I brought my V2 down and landed in my hand. yes landing in your hand is not good practice however it applied and applied well with Bailey (my lab) on helicopter kill patrol....Jim

The picture is genuine. The facility is actually an indoor gymnasium, the "kitchen" in the background is the concession area. The pilot in the picture is the one who taught me to build and fly helis and has been flying since the "early days" when there were no gyros... he flew often with the Gorhams, Ted Schoonard, knew Curtis when he was a kid, knew Curtis' dad (all on a legitimate first name basis). His machinery is the smoothest, best built, hand-fitted machines I have ever flown. They are rock stable and reliable as any around if not more. I personally wouldn't do what they're doing, but if I was going to pick a machine and pilot to do this with outside of Youngblood/Szabo?krause, I'd pick him and his and would feel safe doing it. Not that this justifies this or makes it any safer, just commenting that it's a genuine picture and not just an "average-joe" pilot or machine.

People are talking out of their arses arround here about the flash, the flash is going to originate no more than a couple of inches from the lense of the camera, that would make the shadows be directly behind any object illuminated by the flash in the resulting photo.

The shadows if anything are coming from an overhead ceiling light.

Too many CSI watchers in here, not enough physics and photography graduates.
