I was just watching the 2003 3D Masters and im well shocked how flying has changed so much, almost every flight on the 2003 dvd was slow and graceful nothing like today's flying,
Its amazing how just by a few years so much can change but i think technology plays a big part with pilots pushing the limits and beyond and good reliability that can trust,

cant wait for this years 3D

Yeah. I'm always amazed how much it's advanced as of late. It's always a bit of a shock when watching vids from 5 years ago as it seems so basic (albeit accurate) compared to what's happening now. Without a doubt, the pilots have been pushing the machines to breaking point and the manufacturers have responed with stronger helis, and so on. Gives the pilots more of a challenge to try and break them

I think a mix of the two is more pleasing to the spectator, but ultimately it depends on the spectator, a hardcore 3der will enjoy watching hardcore 3d, Joe Public would be more impressed by graceful loops and probably interpret hardcore 3d as out of control!!

Quotes may have been changed for my own amusement

just a thought...
maybe they could double up on the tricks
.....ie....tumbling circuit..left.....then a right one
.....a tumbling loop from the left and then the right
.....chaos clockwise and then anticlock
these are just examples...
maybe that would test pilots.i know id have to work at things and aint that true talent. after all 3d to me means all dimension flying
regards craig
what you guys think..any ideas
maybe this is where people like curtis etc would stand out ??
