Robbe Cuatro - Millennium - Nova - Dyna-X > Need S4109 4 stroke clutch

If any one has an s4109 4 stroke clutch that they can part with it would be great.

I ordered one from Robbe. The one that arrived looked like a 2 stroke clutch, but they assured me that it would work. As I suspected it slipped in my 4 stroke powered Nova.

I am now between a rock and a hard place!

Any help would be appreciated

s4109 which I having using for years is the heavy duty version of the stock clutch. If you put a new clutch in did you replace the clutch liner?..

Yes, all parts are brand new.
I purchased the 4 stroke Laser 150 conversion from someone who is very experienced with them, with the knowledge that I would need to order a 4 stroke clutch. If Robbe did not replace the 4 stroke clutch (s4109) with a light weight replacement all would be good. Thier web site still shows the old heavy clutch, but that is not what you get!

the older clutch was S4677, this was old , silver colored clutch.

since +/- 2 years ago the clutch is changed to S4109( black color), S4677 is actually discontinued, and since Millenium 3 & Cuatro helis are any way made for 90 size, S4109 is a standard 90 size HD clutch , and only one exist by Robbe.

Some pictures are still remain older, but the info you see above is originated from Robbe, and confirmed.

I what you say is true, why did they sell me a s4109 (through local dealer) that listed on thier web site as a 4 stroke clutch and from the picture has heavy weight shoes, then confirm by e-mail that this is a 4 stroke clutch, if it is not?

They basically sold me the same part the was in the kit and called it something else.

What happened to the 4 stroke clutch? I know that they exist, an Robbe will sell you one, but that is not what arrived in the package.

there is no 4 stroke clutch, its as well S4109 . If someone have something old in stock, its possible, but Robbe do not produce any more other clutches then S4109

tO BE CLEAR, robbe selling 1 only Clutch , it is S4109, and it is black colored clutch.
its not thicker or else, its made from better material, and acting as clutch for all motors( Zenoah as well).

Hello again

I am still looking for a heavy 4 stroke clutch.
Midland thought they had one, but is the new S4109, not the old heavy one that I need.
This is getting frustrating. Robbe discontinues a critical part with no replacement and leaves any one with a 4 stroke high and dry. On top of that they do not answer my e-mail.

Alex, TO BE CLEAR, Robbe assured me by e-mail that this 'new s4109' would work in my 4 stroke application. It does not, it slips and burned up the clutch and lining. Now that I have ruined these new parts that they sold me and told me would work, they will not answer my e-mail.

Any help locating this part would be greatly appreciated.

the S4109 is HD clutch , means also for 4 stroke and gas engines- it will engage earlier ( in lower RPM).
You describing- Burning of the clutch and liner, means something slipping..

regarding 4 st. i would check one thing, those engines are vibrating and A LOT. if vibrating engine moving the clutch inside the bell excentric, this can cause the problem you describe, rather then other issue.

i think it worth to check , this is one of the reasons 4ST not any more popular in Helis. as example, in Airplanes they using special soft mounts to allow the engine to vibrate.

again, there is only 1 part of clutch avaliable from Robbe, this can not be changed or else.. i can confirm it works just fine with Zenoah engines.

Yes something is slipping, the clutch. The laser runs at 7500 rpm that is why the heavy clutch is needed.

There is no exessive vibration with my engine, it runs quite smooth, and is in a Ramster custom mount.

Peter Wales had used the Laser 4 stroke in several futura's and they run fine, they just need the right clutch, the one with heavy shoe's that Robbe has discontined!

Yes I agree, it should look like that. I have even seen one in the flesh.

The problem is that when you order S4109 you get a black coloured clutch that is for a 90 size 2 stroke (does not have the heavy shoes).

Apparently Robbe has discontinued the 4 stroke clutch an replaced it with this, but chose to use the same part number.

I ordered a S4109 from A+J (they had to order it in) as well as Midland (they had it in stock, and also told me that is was the 4 stroke heavy clutch) and both times I received the black 2 stoke 90 size version!

I am still trying to find a Heavy Old Style 4109.

Robbe still is no help.

By the way, what motor/helicopter do you have, would like to see another 4 stroke install?
