Good Head Setup Demo
As I first started fixing my Blade CPP, I always wondered when I was done - since I rapidly forgot how the model acted/lookd when it was "new out of the box".

As a result, I have posted this picture of the top of the head at hover speed.

I have also posted a video at (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAoahiFXXYA).

In the video, you will notice a small amount of wobble during the spool up, but it disappears as the head reaches flying rpm. As the model is about to take off, the center of the screw on top of the head should form a small black round "hole" as seen in the picture above.

I have seen posts that there should be no wobble of the head at any speed, but mine has always had a small amount of wobble at low rpms.

This setup is VERY stable, and is "easy" to hover in one position.

BTW, the batteries you see under the model are to hold the model down for the video, not for longer flight times

I have the same situation. I've tried a bunch of things and replacing parts to try to get rid of the initial low RPM wobble but it never went away. After I noticed that it goes away at High RPM I just ignored it. My Blade CPP hovers, but it does take some concentration to keep it there.

Its called being a CP, their not really percision helis, i seen them come out of the box with that problem(seeings as i work at a hobby shop) but for the most part, its nothing bad, dont worry about it. Get a t-rex 600!

ok... we established that a good setup = stable hover...

but how did you establish the good setup to begin with? (please explain)

When I first started, I religiously followed SSG Scott's advice found here:

(http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=494197)
--> post #5 is a great explanation.

Following these directions, my setup is always very smooth.

In the next week, I will post a few pointers that are more specific to the Blade CP.

Its the plastic head assembly mainly (Center Hub & Spindle Set: BCP, BCPP #EFLH1145) look at an exploded view of the heli your expecting a molded plastic hub to be precise. My first one was when I got my heli but I replaced it and its been just like you guys have described thats 20 flights ago.

Usually the vibration during spool up/down is caused by the blades being slightly out of track as the adjustments aren't really precise enough to always achieve perfect tracking - Once it crosses a certain RPM it's less detectable if at all

This really shows up on my Duzi upgraded H2 which is virtually slopless and has little or no dampening so precise tracking is crucial or it'll shake violently during spooling but is quite smooth once up to speed or in perfect track
