I just put the new one-piece SAB-50 JK Hatori on my Knight 3D. Don't know what the weight is, but it is 10.25" long and 1.5" wide. I also switch the carb on my Hyper to a 60K carb which is bigger and heavier than the Hyper's 60L carb. With the new SAB-50 muffler, the 60K carb, and my new 3D canopy, My 3D went from 7 lbs 10 oz to 7 lbs 12 oz. I am still under 8 lbs and I am not too concerned.

But did he include all the mounting hardware,theres a good ounce of support brackets and standoff's. Its all hearsay right now untill somebody actually weighs both.I had both and theres a lot more parts involved with the SB 50.DOUG

This weight thing has been interesting. My 3D is 7lb 7oz at the mo and could do with losing a bit. Am using duralite setup with switch, header tank, SAB 600(heavy), plastic canopy no stickers, trex 600 undercarriage (may switch to a carbon set) and trex carbon boom supports, stock paddles (gotta go), hitec 6975 on throttle, revlock 20, am using a second metal gyro plate for the revlock. Also Hatori 522.

I guess you lose a bit here, bit there and it all adds up.

About the SB-50, i've recently run one of those and they are same length as the 522 but larger diameter so i guess at least the 522 is lighter.

MP-2 is a brick

Funtech 3D: 138 grams
MP-2: 190 grams
Revo muffler: 91 grams

I knew that muscle pipe was built like a tank from the first moment I picked it up. The Revo muffler doesn't really fit the category here as it doesn't make the power as the others. I'd sure like to see some weights on the Hatori mufflers.

Anyone out there got a weight for that Trex 600 U/C?

Jay,

Too bad you don't have the new one piece SAB-50 to weigh for comparison. If I had a digital scale, I would weigh mine. I guess that's another thing on the "need to get" list for me.

I like the weight of the Funtech 3D muffler. Too bad mine is FUBAR from the meeting between my Knight 3D and Terra Firma. I am going to try to get another one.

The MP2 is heavier but not by much. My scale is not digital so it was hard to get an exact reading but here is what I measured.

MP2 was about 6.2oz
SB50 w/ no mounting hardware was about 5.5oz
SB50 w/ custom Evo CNC mount was just under 6oz

Overall the difference was not even a 1/2 ounce so IMHO it's a wash.

Weighed them both on a triple beam scale and they both weighed 188 grams less the 2 bolts that attach them to the engine. The SB 50 had the supports that came with the pipe and a g10 brace that mounted the the support to the frame,it might could be made a little lighter but not more than a couple of grams.DOUG
