| I agree that DDwaneR clearly has an axe to grind, but I also think it would be useful for Phoenix to provide a demo, even if it just allowed one to play recordings. I don't really agree that reading the minimum specs on the Phoenix website is a good substitute for being able to run the program on your hardware. Sure, if your computer is way above the specs then you can be quite sure it'll work, but if your computer is just at or below minimum specs, or just different, then it's quite reasonable to want to try a demo. I would guess that the great majority of potential customers don't have a hobby shop near them which can let them try Phoenix, so saying | Quote |

| isn't really helpful.
For instance my friend has a laptop which is quite a bit below spec in the video card department, yet runs Phoenix fine with some of the quality settings turned down. On the other hand his desktop machine, which is seemingly closer to minimum specs, doesn't run it well at all. He wasn't about to go buy a new computer just to run a sim, so he would never have bought Phoenix if I hadn't been able to install my copy on his computers to try it. Since I was able to let him try my copy, he did end up buying it. |
