Well I have just placed an order for 2 of these 2200mha 11.2V packs for use with both my Trex and Multiplex Funjet.

While it's fairly easy to pick a "fading" battery in a helicopter and land before any cell damage is done, I'm now learning to fly a fixed wing and find detecting a slow battery situation much harder because fixed wing aircraft don't need the motor to keep them up there in the same way a heli does and I have just destroyed a nearly new Align 2100 pack this afternoon.

As i'm in sydney australia and I choose the cheapest postal option I suspect it's going to be a week or more before they arrive on my doorstep but I will post my thoughts once I have put a few flights in, can't wait!

They are the same balance ports that are on Align packs. I ran one of these packs on a funjet last weekend pulling 54 amps out of the pack at times no problems ran like a champ...

Great to hear you have tried them in a FunJet with success.

My Funjet had its first test flight over the weekend and its seriously fast on a JGF 450TH and a 4.25 x 4.25 prop but we got carried away with it and puffed up a near new battery so I really hope these Thunder work.

Almost 50 cycles and still no signs of wear. still charges up to 12.6 volts and has a standing voltage of 12.4. I will post CBA II graphs on the 50th cycle. I am pretty impressed with this battery so far...

50th Cycle Report

Well here it is the 50th cycle report. This was done using a CBA II
Battery analyser. The compare cycle was the 10 cycle on the battery, that was when I got the CBA II. As you can see there has almost no change in capacity and this pack has been beat. I also took some high discharge tests that I will post down the road...

I Really Love Those Lipo's.........

To all those interested... The claims and hype on those, "Air Thunder Lipo's" just from my use i've founded to be true... I currently have 1 T-Rex XL HDE and a Zagi with a direct-drive brushless motor, this Baby draws atleast 70 Amps at full throttle, and out of all my lipos the Air Thunder 3s 2200 Mah 11.1 volts is still rock hard as solid as the day I purchased it. Even on a hot day , when pushing the battery really hard, This lipo still remains solid. Never showing any signs over usage. Yet me other batteries... well lets just say they dont call me "Lipo Puff Daddy" for nothing ... Its the best Lipo I"ve ever tried......

Ok, I ordered two of the 2200mAH packs for my Trex direct from the US. Cost US$17 to ship to Australia via USPS and took 9 days to arrive which was not to bad. I could have used the express option but that was $80 which is more than a single battery.

Batteries arrived well pack and had standing voltages of approx 3.95V per cell and were well balanced.

I have been charging them using a e-station BC5 balance charger, they have the same balance connector as Align, FlightPower, eWatts etc.

They are approx 15grms heavyer than the eWatts cells I have been using and are slightly bigger overaul but still fit the Trex lower platform fine.

I'm still at the "Sport" flying stage but the performance is impressive with full throttle climbs going up like a rocket ship with HeadSpeed of 2800rpm and collective of +/- 11 degs providing flight times of around 13 minutes until noticeable power fall off is felt or the low voltage "misfire" is triggered on my Quark 33A ESC.

I have also flown them in my Multiplex Funjet using a JGF450TH driving a 5x5 prop, this aircraft was wickedly fast (hit a street light last week so its just foam dust now) with unlimited vertical climb at 38amp current draw.

I have just bought a EagleTree FDR so I hope to makes some measurements in the Rex soon but in the mean time I have ordered another 3 batteries this morning.

How are the lipo charger's doing charging these packs from 3.3v's cell? Is anyone using a TP1010C?

I am using a 1010c, it charges no problem but when I do the 0 voltage tests it takes some trickery to get the voltage back up until the charger recognizes the lipo...

Air_Alpheus,

Do you have any plots when it was new for the same current draw? It looks like your battery is only giving out 2000mah currently.
