i am balancing while charging and im charging at 1.5 amps so that is less than 1c and its not the same cell each time. ok maybe i was wrong about 20 mins maybe like 10mins after charging. this seems to happen on all my batteries and not just one in particular.

I also see balancing continue for 5 to 10 minutes using the blinkey
as well and I too use it while charging! It's not isolated to
the AT packs, All my packs 3-different brands...So I'm not worried
about it!

Are you guys following the 80% rule? I know you dont have to with these packs but remember usually you are overdischarging them on every flight, which means you are flying until the power drops and landing which is OK, but just remember it takes a little more to balance the cells after you fly them that way. I found that the # 2 cell in the 3S pack is the one that requires the most balancing. It heats up the fastest during the disharge cycle because it is surrounded by the other 2 cells on either side. It doesent have any surface area exposed for cooling plus its absorbing the heat that the other 2 cells are putting out. The more a cell heats up the less internal resistance it has so it will discharge faster than the other 2 cells. Now when you put it on the charger and balancer your outer cells will charge up faster so your balancer will usually bleed off the outer cells while its waiting for the middle cell to catch up. Hope this helps...

I never abuse the 80% rule with any of my packs, I have been
flying about 6 minutes first 6-7 times doing the lipo break-in
and I let my packs rest 30min. or more before recharging! Fact
is the packs are only warm after 6 min. ( no 3D )flights on them
and still have tons of power left. I've been charging the 2200mAh
at 1800-1900mAh on my polycharge 4 with blinkey. Don't know if that
has anything to do with it

Chargers charge 3S up to around 12.60. The Blinky will charge down to 12.46... that last 15 or so minutes probably isn't the Blinky balancing as much as it is discharging the pack.

So, guess ThunderPower is what I'll get for my new 450S.

why when you can get an AT battery much cheaper that works just as well or better and wont be hurt in high discharges?

I agree,Why worry about over discharging a TP pack when
the AirThunder pack will take it over and over! Is not
a practice I subscribe too, But it's nice to know if
I go past my timer setting or forget to use it the pack
won't be trashed

How do these Air Thunder's handle the high amp draw of a motor like the Hacker A20-6XL that is on my 450? I puffed 3 DN Power Packs on the very first flights with this motor. I bought some FlightPower EVO25's, and they have been kicking strong for 50 plus flights.

I'm hesitant to buy these new batteries because of my past experience with new stuff!!!

Well I used it in a funjet and was pulling 55 amps from the battery continuos and it never swelled and that was well over 50 cycles ago. Try it you wont be disapointed...

Yes, that's what I'm running in my 450. They're holding up pretty well considering the summertime heat. I highly recommend them!

I too puffed 2 DN packs. I run the Air Thunder packs with a Medusa 28-40-3400. Runs great, pack temps are about 110-120deg. NO PUFF and LOTS of power. Awesome packs and I will be ordering several more.

Has it been that long???

The original 3S pack has 272 cycles on it and still has 85% capacity.
