Too high the torque?

Will this 18V Makita batt on a Sullivan HI-Tork too powerful for my 40 size plane and 30 size heli? I'm afraid it might ripped something in the engine.

Problems and solutions

I bought one of these on Friday and it failed on the 2nd use

Took it back to LHS and he replaced it FOC

Guess what, it failed again

After dismantling the unit I found the problem
The one way bearing wasn't loctited in well enough, so I degreased it and used bearing lock and left it to dry overnight.

Sorted

Bond007,
Did the one-way bearing spin inside the housing? Is it simply Loctite that holds it in place? What is the bearing lock description or number so that I may purchase some to fix my Sullivan starter wand.
Thanks

I guess I should have asked if it is red Loctite that requires heat to break loose.

Yes and Yes.

The bearing was fitted from new with red loctite, which is a screw/bolt retainer and not suitable for retaining bearings.

I used blue loctite which is used to secure bearings. It is loctite 601.

It is the blue loctite you will need to heat up to remove. I have not had to use heat on anything fitted with red loctite.

It has performed faultlessly since

Thanks a million James.
I really like my Sullivan, but it spun the bearing after the second start as well. I'll get on it right away and thanks for the specific type Loctite.
