That's why I decided to repaint my canopy. Not only will it look good, it should make me fly like Alan S. and CY!
When I added sticker to my stock canopy I was able to do piro flips almost instantly on the first flight Now by painting the canopy I should be able to do all the crazy stuff

Gary, about the fancy paint remark I'm just jealous! I'm going to have to send mine off to a pro if I want them to look as good as yours.

In case no one recognized the tongue in cheek humour, I own two pros, a sport, and one 3D, and I'm seriously contemplating another 3D, as I already bought two of everything that I added to the first one. Can someone help me, I might have a problem?

Tony, thanks for the heads up, my plain canopies must be the reason my flying still sucks! I'm rollin' on the floor from that post.

Jay,

Why send your canopies to a pro when you can send them to me.... LOL

As far as your problem, go ahead and buy another Knight 3D. You want it anyway so go get it. Adding another heli to the fleet will never hurt either.

Well here's my update from this past Sunday. I got a few great flights in with no CRASHES. Yipeeee!!!

I finally got my knight tuned up to near perfect and started to really push my limits. Till after the fuel fitting thingy came off my fuel tank. Allowing fuel to drip all over my heli Lucky no crash and I was able to get it down in one piece. Good thing my pump setup saved my engine from burning up too. Even without pressure in the fuel tank the pump was still able to feed fuel to the engine To tell the truth I didn't even know the fuel fitting came off till I went for an auto and notice that the engine was still reving after I hit the throttle hold switch. I notice that, that sound was a sign of a lean engine. I walked over the check the engine temp and it was at 238 degrees than I notice fuel all over my heli.

After cleaning up my whole heli I notice that the front bearing in the frame develop a little bit of slop. I can see the bearing move up and down when I move the front shaft. These are the 2 small bearing in the frame where the front shaft goes through. I wonder if this is normal. I didn't really check this part when I first got my knight. It could have been like that from the start. I also notice that my washout base develop a little off slop too. When I move the flybar paddles by hand I can see the washout base wiggle. I didn't notice any problems in flight so I'm not worried.

Tony,

There is about 1-2 mm of up/down play with the starter shaft right from the box. I noticed it when I first assmebled mine. I may try to shim mine so that I eliminate the play. It doesn't seem to hurt performance though.

Shaft Play

You guys that have vertical slop in the start shaft might want to check out the last page of MTA hobbies parts listings. Part no. 97-0501 is a package of rubber O-rings. They go between the starter coupling and top bearing on the start shaft assembly.

The Sport and Pros all come equipped with these already installed. The start assembly is identical between the 3D and the later versions of the Pro. Other than the plastic frame mounted start shaft bearings, the Sport start shaft/clutch assembly is likewise identical.

My 3D also shipped without this little start shaft assembly preloader, but I already had a package of the O-rings, so I used one during assembly. NO SLOP, and no vibration due to a metal shimmed solution.

guys I'm not talking about the starter shaft I'm talking about the shaft that the arms attach to (both alleron and elevator arms go on)
There are 2 small flanged bearings. One on each frame.

After talking with Tony on the phone, he informed me that the flanged bearings in the frames, where the shared CCPM shaft run through, seems to have some up/down play in it. Not the bearing themselves, but a slight up/down movement of the bearings in the frame. I need to check it out for myself.

Tony,

Don't worry about it too much, that problem will be cured when you get out in the work world and have to be at a job every morning at 8 AM.

You are looking foward to that, right?

Well,

I got the throttle servo relocated. Don't have all the stuff to relocate the tail servo yet. It's kind of jury rigged right now because I couldn't mount the switch in the hole on the other side because of the depth of the HS81mg, so it's just velcro'd to the heli at the moment. I got the arizona Regulator and all but I'm gonna be making that 5200 pack 2 2600 packs. There's just not enough mounting room for EVERYTHING under the canopy. And I noticed you can go to high or it hits the canopy. SO... It's a heli in the works still. I flew it today with the new throttle servo and didn't notice any difference at all between the 9252 and the HS81.

Hey Andrew your not using a pin flag switch with your arizona reg? I'll give you the mixing arm at Mayday so you can do the front tail servo mod

I don't have the reg mounted yet. Haven't made the 5200 pack 2 2600 packs yet. Still running it off a nicad. But yes I do have the pin flag switch for my arizona.

Tony I have the mixer arms all I'm lacking is the compass pulley block to alter to mount the mixing arm to.
