I want to write an article to encourage more chicks to get interested in RC Technology in general. I only recently found that I have an interest in it myself. My husband just got a Blade CX. At this point, I'm wondering what made other women get interested in it. What hooked me for sure is actually doing it. I've only done it once and all I did was get the damn thing off the ground. I also tried it because if we both enjoy it we can do it together (and he insisted that I try. Then I didn't wanna give it back) . A big plus is that he thinks it's absolutely hot and that's always good. LOL That cracks me up.

Ok... so here's what I need to know....

What made you do it?

How long have you been doing it?

What are the Pros and cons?

Do you consider it expensive?

Any tips for beginners? Suggested models? Do's and Don'ts?

Thanks so very much in advance... I really appreciate any input you can offer. My husband suggested that I post to the forum because the information he's gotten has been so helpful.

Later,
Diane

Hi Diane,

This is an interesting topic...my guess is that it goes beyond gender...and that the answer to finding more female pilots is unconventional 'marketing'. Get an article published somewhere that the majority of readers are female and you'll get the best results.

My girlfriend (Calamity Jen on here) made a pretty funny comment the other day when we were in Toledo after the show at the 'indoor fun fly'...she said "well, one nice thing is that there's never a line at the women's bathroom" : ) She's an avid Blade CX2 and T-Rex 450SE...and soon to be Raptor 50 and Quick 50 pilot.

Anyway...looking forward to reading your article,
- Don

When in doubt...auto out

LOL

OK now ya'll are too funny. made me laugh out loud. Some of us do like fun. Really! video games, concerts, loud music, basketball, firearms, skateboards...the whole nine yards. i just got back from St. Louis, MO with my daughter's choral dept at school. We had an awesome time and i am gonna be exhausted for a week. Might be off topic but if ya wanna check out the pics from the trip look at the slideshows on my myspace. (www.myspace.com/littlemsmorbid) Hopefully after monday and tuesday, will have new pics of me flying the heli out in the yard. :) Looking forward to trying the new one. need to get in some sim time BAD. Thanks for all the input. Maybe I'll be able to get back down to business now that the trip is outta the way and school is almost over.

Diane

Quote I found online:
The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life to experience all three at the same time.

Now that is effin hilarious.
