Compass Knight 50 > Knight 3D pitch range?

With the recomeneded factory link settings I am only able to get +10 and -10 degrees on the collective. It this normal? I thought I read somewhere that someone was getting like 14 degrees on the pitch. I have the A arm and both T arms aligned with the guide holes on the frame. I can actually get more negative pitch but the washout base will bottom out with the blue anti rotation collar

I know I could readjust the links around to get more pitch but is anyone else seeing this in their knights?

If I change my middle pitch curve from 50% to 40% it will lower the swash and by changing the 2 pitch links to achieve 0 pitch at mid stick. This will allow me to get more top end pitch. Is there anything wrong with doing this?

I like that pop action but maybe 10 degrees is all I will need.

I'm almost done with my new knight 3D. All I have left to do is set the gov and gyro and I'm good to go Can't wait till Sunday :d:d

Hi Tony
I had this initially, loads of pitch available on the bottom but only about 10 degrees on top. There may be other ways to overcome this but what I did was make up a couple of new links from the blade grips down to the mixer arm on the flybar. My factory links were screwed down till they were touching. when I opened them up they felt a little loose in the threads so I made new ones. You only need a couple m.m longer to get to 12 degrees on top for that pop we all like.
When I fly the bird I move my pitch curves around anyway to get the feel around mid stick that I like so I probably don"t end up with exactly 0 degrees at mid stick.

Knight 3D pitch

I was able to get mine to +- 14.5 degrees. That's what it equals out to without the sawsh hitting. BUT watch the links because on the swash with that much pitch I had the end of the links hitting. I ended up going from 65% on the swash settings to around 50% and I'm still pulling +- 12.5 and nothing touching anywhere. NOW I know the hyper can't pull that sort of pitch so I cut the top end down with throttle curves so my normal mode is +10 but in my throttle hold it's the full +12.5

I got about +/- 10.5 with the factory setting. If you are using JR radio, you can go to the swashmix page and increase your pitch % from the factory 65 to a higher number, that will give you more collective. You can do the same for the fore/aft left/right cyclic by adjusting the Aile and elev. I end up decreasing those to get 6-6.5 deg cyclic. If you set up like they told you, I got 7 or more deg cyclic.

After you do that, just make sure you move the sticks around to check for any binding.

For now, I am happy with 10.5 collective and 6 on cyclic.

Thanks for the reply guys. I know for a fact that the hyper can pull 12deg of pitch. I was running 12.5 deg of pitch and 8.5 degrees on the cyclics on my ZeroG raptor and it flew fine without a problem. As long as you have good collective management the engine shouldn't bog down.

On the servo arms I have the balls 12mm out from center because I am using airtronic servo. So the swash values are ALE:50%, ELEV60%, and Pitch:50%. They didn't have a hole for 11mm like the manual recomended but im sure that won't be a problem as long as the links don't bind. But boy are these servos fast. Much faster than my old 9252's

I may end up changing the links to get more pitch because I am using Radix blades and those blades seem to like more pitch. For some reason I notice that the Radix don't have that Ummmmf power when using only 10degrees.
