Just wondering if anyone else on the advertisers page has bothered to track the response their advertisement is actually generating. While I expect that your business has benifited from your advertising spot, can you say exactly how much actual sales have increased as a direct result of advertising here on RunRyder. Just curious

Stats.

Although I am not an advertiser I am very interested to see the statistics and benefits of advertising here. Especially with all the DRAMA that has been created regarding advertising etc lately..

Yep thats what happened all right. Sure sucks, don't it.

I got to give my support to Mark Ryder for his decision. I don't necessairly agree with it however, Mark has done an excellent job so far, so who am I (or we) to say what is or is not permitted on HIS website. Thats right, as an authorized dealer, I don't agree with this decision. I think that the little guy, gray market, middleman or whatever you want to call it, has a definate place in our society. If for nothing more than to prevent price fixing and to keep the ripoff's from dominating our hobby.

Hey Mark, I guess I better put my money where my mouth is.
Put my ad back on the RR homepage.
I will take six spots for all of this month, and sign me up for atleast three spots for the remainder of the year. That ought to help take some of the slack up from those guys who jumped ship.

Jeez fellow it has only been 12 days. What do you expect, miracles?

Or, you could assume you have a inferior line of products that either nobody wants or can afford AND start selling Quick Helis.

Or, you could assume that RR is not worth your advertising dollars and renige on your advertising agreement with Mark,

Whatz it gonna be? We ALL want to know. Thanks for airing your woes in public.

Thanks.

There's obviously an influx of Visitors and Members to RR. However, we need tracking and stats from the Vendors disclosing sales generated from the advertising customers saw here on Runryder or even referal information from Runryder members. Thanks for the stats Mark. They are very helpful.

stats just don't have a "right" look to me.

look at the monthly unique visitor one, ya could use the others, but monthly is soo dramitic.

that number is not believeable to me

how does the system define unique? ip adress? or login data?or ??

if it uses ip adress them every user with a dial up is unique every time they dial in. and i would be willing to bet that over 50% of the visitors here are on dial up.

"how does the system define unique? ip adress? or login data?or ??"

maybe a cookie with the access_log set to log cookie vars...
but that doesn't help with browser caching so I think Urchin and others now use a little java, (with a gif), so that every request has a unique address...

cheers...jeff

mike:
yer site should be able to tell ya where each visitor to it came from, that should be a good indication of the effectiveness of any online adds.
any of the refeerals that have a rr adress in em should count to that add.

after looking at the stat page, now i got questions:
if i visit once a day, then that is counted as one unique visit a day?
is it also 30 unique visits a month?
how about 10 times a day, does that count a 10 daily visits and 300 monthly?
some explanation of how the system works is needed here.

Unique Visitors (IP Address Method)

Basically the total IP addresses that visit by the day, the week or the month.

Logins are members that visit and login (cookies make logins automatic).

Online above shows logged in members and not logged in guests.

so that means:
an ip adress is unique each time it visits the site, as in my ip get counted 10 times if i visit the site 10 times a day?
if that is the case, then they, software writers, shoulda used a different term.

Each IP is counted just once per day, week or month.

Looking at a site and BUYING from them are two totally different stats. Advertising means nothing without coresponding sales to prove it. Just a HO............

Doesn't dial-up put out a different ip every time some logs online,
Like, I visit RR, check messages than log off-line. an hour later, I log back on-line and my dial up service issues me a different ip. and I go to RR. So can Marks tracking software tell thats is "me" again? The cookie logs me right on, but the ip is still different. Does the tracking software "see" me or does it think I am different user/visitor?

is there a way to seperate out the stats for, user/members per day/week/month vs guest?
just to look at the stats, ya got about 45,000 folks a month that look, but do not join?

Just because there is 45000 different IP addresses doesn't mean there are 45000 different people. When I had dialup I got a new IP address each time I dialed up, so if I dialed up an average of 5 times daily I would represent 150 IP adresses over a timeframe of one month.
