Motor is a SX 12
I believe its a car engine normally but protech use it on this heli

Well....unfortunately I havnt had the luck and maiden it today ...
I HAD IT RUNNING AND IT SOUNDED GOOD

I ll try on the weekend
i bought a gallon Cool Power 15% nitro a Glow plug with charger , i plan to use the power panel to recharge it all the time but also i need to invest in a starter motor (the thing is heavier then the heli and cost 40EUR :O(
Also i need a power panel for the field Ihave no idea but been toldthe rechargable glow plugs only do 5 -8 starts on the field so that wont be all day

all in all I need another 150 Eur

So cheap it aint if your E flyer But ..This summer i ll be flyng really all day :O)))))))

Btw the canopy fits the QJ8 fantastic ...cst 5 eur so iam getting another canopy to use on my QJ8

I want to see that on a QJ!
I like the look of the 450, let us know how it is to tune.
Im put off nitro by all the apparent fiddling lol.
Cheers

Nice evening today so after 5 i run out with all my heavy equipment and tested a bit ...
The heli sounds FANTASTIc I really mean Great sound ...

I done some tuning on the motor withtheadvcie i been given..
So ..make sure it smokes and listen ..
listen i do believe isthe best way totell ...
Iam a complete IC noob
Know amost naught so I was learning today by just running the engine and listening ..
.
You want it to run fairly rish ..for the beginning , I been told, then after a while when the engine is a bit run in.then closethe needle a click or two and run it leaner so it gets less fuel but its produces more ummpf ..
Well ..i am learnig bit by bit still some facts just sound a bit alien to me ..
All in all ,deffinately more hassle getting to the field ...
The stuff i am carrying now weighs a ton ..
Starter , Starter shAft, 12V leadbattery , Glow starter, Several tools ...think thats it so all and the heli and your loaded up ..
Anyway Just getting your starter ready and firing it up once and i can say I dont mind at all the carrying..
the sound this little monster makes is amazing ...
Deffinately moves all birds immediately of the field ...unlike when i am here with my E-heli then they never move ..

..flying properly? I still havnt done! but I am taking it easy so i am taking it easy
Hopped and watched and listen thats what i dont today ...(well I flew my QJ8 for 4 lipos So not all testing :O)
anyway the engine does sound almost in tune when i learned a rechargable Glow Starter stick does not last long
I wanted to start flying the thing when i run out of juice on the Glow starter...Deffinately have to get myself QUICKLY a power panel then i can use the 12V battery i carry already to power the starter and a Glow plug ..
because the small rechargable Glow plugs are useless, they run outts juice very fast ..

All in all i cant wait for the weekend

Leaner more umph!!

Yup, that what you get. It will take less gas, but make sure you do not lean it too much. You will over heat the engine and might die on you in mid air. So, go gentle on the needle. Take your time to figure the sound of it. You will get the hang of it.

Don't forget to have FUN!!

I will indeed take my time
Still I scared of yanking it in the air
Excatly for this reason
If it dies it drops :O((((

So I will hopp around and learn 1st

Now I have my throttle hold set to - 150 and ti still doesnt stop the engine
How to I stop it ...??
have to figure this one out as well
otherwise
tHERS NOTHING BETTER FOR SOME FUN
tHE noize GUYS ...lololol

I suppose i finally cracked it
I understand the little engine much better now
I reset all settings and configured my TX and the Fun started
Today I flew around with it for the 1st time ..
WOW !! 1st thing i noticed on the IC the tail is rock solid ...
Its hammered in place with a GY401 and a HS877 TINY servo on the tail

I havnt done a HS read yet but I recon its HIGH
2800?? It screams and the HS didnt break at all during punchout. max throttel I have a tthe moment st to 60% atv on thottle . Still experimenting with the throttle curve

All in all a very nice LOUND screamer I really love it and even though it was over bft 4 today the little 450 ic felt less a probem then flying my QJ8 470mm blades

land take off land fuel take off
I have to say i like this idea
deffinately will have more stick time this year and hopefully progress some faster

sounds good.nothing like being able to fill up and fly as many times as you want. You'll be getting a gasser next with 25-30 mins.run times on 1 tank.
Try leaving your glow start stick on charge at least overnite, you should get more than 7-8 starts from it.

Yep thanks brod ...Iam well happywith it
I am getting a power panel then the glow plug wont be an isue anymore ...It gets juice then from the 12v lead Akku same as the starter
Now I changed a few parts from my shogon to the 450ic ..
Yes interchangable ...Another great plus from me I have a compete blinged Shogun 400
So As you can see in the pics
I use the cnc machines Upper mixers from Mircoheli and the Swashplate CNC .

As far aas flying goes its bft 7 today and i wont makeit utagain :O(
But testing yesterday has already shown the 450 IC hovers hands off ...it might be not that quick of the deck when fully tanked and could probably have a tiny bit more power ..but we ll wait and see for now i am still busy running the motor in ...
One thing is I am sure...its GREAT fun!

my brother does the panel thing with his Rappy 60,puts all his tools, rags etc in the flight box with the panel fixed into the wood.
All the plane guys have the same so at least it keeps the flight bits together.
A smmaler fuel heli appeals to me also, might get one for summer....
My bats.on my Logo 10 are defo' on the way out, dont really want to shell out £450 for 3-4 packs and only get 20-25 mins at the field with it.
Pity nobody does a glow conversion for it,cause it sure flies well.
Your flying will come on leaps and bounds with more stick time with topup' and fly.Mine did with my Gas Predator last year.
When the motor is run-in' you will get good power, keep it rich for at least 1 gallon. What we do with new glow motors is lean the needle a micro turn every tank for about 1 gallon and eventually you'll know the best setting.

make sure you put some nuts on the inside of the aileron controls.I checked mine and noticed there are none and they stripped out of the frame when the servos moved.
