Henseleit 3DNT - Rocket - 3DMP > 3D NT questions

Ok guys

No doubt this may of been covered in the past but I would like some advice on the 3D NT

1) Does the Webra 91 now fit in this heli without any mods required to make to make it fit

2) Is it crucial to use things like the suggested nicad or can you use anything

3) What choice of servo's have you been using on the ccpm.

4) Anyone know if the GY401 will be ok with this heli - have got one on a millie 91 that seems to work fine.

5) Any items that are a must to help assist with an easy build up.

1) Webra is supposed to have addressed the issues now. Talk to Stephen at CyberHeli to confirm that the backwards running versions have been fixed

2) You can use any NiCad you like. You will just have to put it in a different place. However, with the recommended equipment balance will be perfect

3) 9206s, but did consider JR digitals - DS8425 Others are using digitals - check out the Henseleit Yahoo Group and go to 'database' to see what people are using -

4) There are people using the 401. See the database on Yahoo !

5) Nothing special required. Henseleit includes tools like feeler guages and a swash leveleing tool

What parts do I need to upgrade to the latest version. I saw a new kit with a composite main gear. Please enlighten all of us in the states.

The latest version has

the tail upgrade which if I recall correctly was a redesign of the axle
the graphite belt rollers to 'charge' the belt as it rotates and remove static (replaces the spring loaded ball arrangement)
the little bearings that fit close to the tail belt pulleys and stop the belt from jumping
the carbon/aluminium main pulley
thicker carbon skid legs
fan shorud made of a different material

I think that is it. Anyone know of anything else ?

From what I heard, the bearings on the belt and the carbon main pulley are only really required for the very *hardest* 3D pilots.
The graphite rollers on the belt are just an alternative to the springloaded ball. I guess they are better otherwise Henseleit wouldn;t have changed but if you are getting no RF interference you can probably live without them
The fan shroud was probably a manufacturing process change rather than any functional improvement
The thicker skid legs are worth it as the originals flex a lot. They are about £20

You can probably easily do without any of these things.

What you may be interested in are the carbon fibre skids and canopy !!!

Have you guys checked out this website ?

I like the canopies - gonna get me one of those babies...

Are these the changes that can be found in a Mark 3 kit.

Cyber seem a little slow replying about the engine question - emailed them last wednesday and still not heard anything yet.

Thank you for the reply. I do appreciate it. Those of us over here in the US are kind of "on the outside looking in" when it comes to the Henseleit.

Can the CF canopy be bought directly from them? If so, how do I go about it? I can't read German at all so I'm really at a loss.

Hi Sam,

For the Carbon Canopy you have to contact your NT source, as stated on the CR-site (in german). The Canopies are only deliverd directly from Jan Henseleit himself.

But since Jan has out-sourced the english and far-east to some other companies, I think you should contact them about the new Carbon canopy.

Thanks Rick. I some how missed your reply to me until just now. I got my Henseleit from Revolution. I'll check with them. We don't have any sources for the Henseleit helicopters here in the US.

Revolution Models should have some carbon canopies in the next week or so. I have just had a mail from Jan Henseleit to this effect.

Engine?

Is it possible / or going to be possible to buy a 3D NT and fit an off the shelf 90 engine - in particulare the new OS 91 SHX 'C' Spec? I don't want to mess about with backward running engines etc.

If you don't mind left hand rotation, then you can fit a standard engine. The LHR kits have to be special ordered from Revolution, or you can get them direct from Jan Henseleit

Other than that there is no way to reverse the rotation as it uses a single stage reduction with pulleys

8mm shaft

You can use any engine with a 8mm grinded shaft. So the new 91 SHX 'C'spec does not fit. Axle is to short an to thick. You even have other reduction gears to fly the NT with a 60, that is if Jan is still producing them. I think nobody now a days flies the NT with a 60.

Lately someone on the german forum asked if it was possible to NOT use the auto-rotation driven tail-rotor. Jan had this option listed in the beginning, but after questioning had to answer, nobody had asked for it from the start, so the (few) part necessary weren't on stock.

Left hand rotation will make the heli lean the other way. You've probably noticed RHR lean to the right, and it's is something you get used to - subconciously. Switching to LHR may give you the heebie geebies for a little while as you re-adjust.
But saying that, a member of our club mixes the two with no problem...

With regard to advantages from the engine running the 'right' way - I really don't think it makes any difference.
