Being new to the Heli world, and finding not many people in the Montgomery Area into Helis. I know I will be visiting the group down at Ft. Rucker soon.

In the mean time I would like to know/find out more about any meets or fun flies in my area.

I saw an another post that the Birmingham one is March 22 and also one in Americus, Ga on Feb 22.

Is there a website with more info on these events?

Also, my sister is moving to the Huntsville area and I have a friend in Asheville, NC (i'd like to get him into Helis)...any clubs or events in or around those areas?

There's a swap meet in Perry, GA on the 2nd - 3rd of Feb. This will be my first trip over there. but I'll try to get more info for you.

Come on down to Fly/Learn with us. We'd be glad to have you.

Give "compumise" here on RunRyders a holler. He's been down for the last 4 weekends.

Sundays are best as our main instructor has to open the Red Baron hobby (Enterprise, AL) shop by 10am on Saturdays but is flying or helping others fly most of the day on Sunday.

You can go to a spot I believe here on RunRyder to view a calander. Also go to www.ronlund.com and view theirs. David Harkey's fly in (the march one you speak of) is posted there with a link to the web site,plus look for David Harkey's E-mail and buzz him for the info .

Or... DAVID! Help!!!!!!

Thanks for the info.

I am definitely coming up the B'ham David for the FunFly. I want to try to get over to Ga also.

Vetrider, Its been a couple of years since I have been in Perry, Ga swap meet. I wasn't into Helicopters back then. They have lots of Plank stuff. I am more into Sailplanes and a electrics. SOme venders had some good prices on the receivers and servos I was searching for... I do not recall much in teh way of Heli's over there, but I think I heard that they did have one guy fly a demo there.

Most of the demos are planks, but I was still impressed. They even had an indoor electric demo the last time I was there. If the weather is good, I will be going...

John, I will be in Asheville in a couple of weeks, but not during the weekend. About how far is Easley from Asheville or Atlanta? As I said, before I go to both places often.

Thanks again and hopefully will be meeting some of you in the near future.
