Tools and Field Equipment > Triton Jr. charging question

Will the Triton Jr. let you set the charge current and battery mah seperately? I've noticed with some chargers (like the Multiplex 5014), if you select a low charge current to slow charge the pack, the pack doesn't fully charge. It has to be charged again to reach its full capacity. With my Accu-cycle elite I can set the current and mah seperately and get a full charge every time.

With the Triton Jr. you are setting the charge rate, not the pack size. For example in the NiCd and NiMH mode you enter the charge rate in amps. The only reason it shows "mAh" as the unit for LiPos is so people always charge at 1C.

With the CC/CV LiPo charging method the charger stops charging when the the voltage is held at the maximum (4.2V/cell) and the current drops below a particular threshold indicating the battery pack cannot accept any more power. The charger really doesn't care how large your pack is. It just stops when the pack cannot take any more power.

Yes, I'd say it's a great little charger. The lack of an integrated balancer makes it a bit of a compromise. For people who only charge LiPo batteries, I think there are better options.
