Finally got all the electronics together for my Knight 3D. Still waiting on an Arizona regulator and battery. My credit card is exhausted!! But I think this bird will be worth it

Jim,

Looks like you have everything you need. You will be presently surprised by the performance of this heli right out of the box. I think that it has all the right parts in all the right locations. Aluminum is used where it is needed and not as "bling."

Keep us posted on the status of your Knight 3D.

Later...

All those boxes are empty now! Ready for test hops in the backyard. Maybe today if the weather cooperates.

Looking good, Jim...

A word of caution concerning the location of your header tank. It appears that you have it in the same location that I 1st had mine at. The problem is that the screw/bolt in that location goes into the plastic fan shroud in the frame, therefore preventing you from tightening it up properly. Mine would rotate and end up with the fuel line end pointing downward and the clunk pointing skyward (which could have ended up in a flameout if the engine sucked in some air from the air bubble in the header tank). I relocated mine using a standoff to the crank case ring mount. Look at this pic here:

This ensured that the screw holding it on the heli went into aluminum. I was then able to properly secure the header tank. Now it is pretty hard to move by hand and I am confident that it will not move during flight.

Just thought I would let you know. Good luck.

Thanks Gary. I will do that today while I'm waiting on the sun to come out.

Finally got enough weather to actually fly this bird instead of just hover in the yard. This thing is the quickest heli on cyclic that I have flown except maybe for my T-Rex SE. The head doesn't seem to load up during fast cyclic and collective moves like tic-tocs. It flips and tumbles like nothing I currently own. I LIKE IT !!!

That's exactly how I felt after I was able to "wring" it out. I am in the process of making some changes. I will post pics once I am done...
