Can anyone give me some information on the mixing arm rods on the Sceadu 50. Are you bending these rods per the adendum to the instruction manual thanks Morgan.

Morgan

I have a Sceadu 30 and have not had to bend the mixing arms. I have plenty of movement without any binding.

Somebody on another forum made a very valid comment - ensure your washout block is on the correct way round, the flat surface points up and the 'hump' points down. The washout can be fitted either way round but the way mentioned above is the correct way.

I tried both ways. I first flew with them straight then with them bent. Doesn't seem to make much of a differnece either way. I had no interaction between arms andthe rods at full travel. However I did come very close with out the arms bent. After I bent them clearence was no longer in question.

There is no harm in bending them so why sweat it? I don't want to hear the whining about metal fatigue or anything like that. This one time minor bend will not make that big a difference.

Mine's Done!!

I finished my Sceadu 50 this weekend and I did not have to bend anything!!

I had the tips from Gregs site as well as the tips from MRC.............both of which mentioned the bending tips from the addendum sheets................

The only problem was, THERE WAS NO ADDENDUM SHEETS!!!! My Sceadu is a US model from Altech. I must have gotten lucky when I assembled because I really didn't notice the flat or the hump, but I put it in right anyways. Since I had no issues with binding, I just ignored the tips about bending and went on with no problems.

Seems like the post that mentioned the Washout assy may be upside down for those of you that have binding issues is valid......but I'm not gonna change my assembly to confirm that

I have proper linkage length setup on my page (It worked for me it might work for you too ). I have bent my linkages, but the binding that it is to avoid only would occur at full negative pitch AND full cyclic which is quite rare to do.

I also have the manual scanned and posted on my site, including the addendum sheets.

Corrections

Greg,

The reason I mentioned that my kit didn't come with addendum sheets is because Hirobo made the changes to the actual manual. I compared my manual with your Scans and it shows the changes in my book.

On the back of the manual, it also shows "FIRST PRINTING June, 2001" "SECOND PRINTING August, 2001".

Thanks

Oh, IC!

Is there anything new besides what was already in the addendum sheet?

It doesn't look like it.

All over the manual there are "caution" boxes that are just a bit darker than the other text boxes.................they were definately put in after the first printing.
