what tork says is correct, I would bet that we'll be able to see all the details real soon. Anyway you look at it, this is good news for everyone. tn, not a ton of peeps have the Stylus, I would think Spektrum is going for the majority radios right now, my take on it anyways....

I sure hope it uses the same receivers as the DX7. I would be really upset if it didn't as I have a boat load of them now.

Well, one good thing is that folks won't have to relearn how to setup their gyros and govs.

I am so glad I held off on buying a DX7 now. I like my 9C because I know how to program it. Now, I can just stick a module in it and go. I love it.

Wow, the ground was closer than I thought.

The AR7000 RX will work with these new modules. The modules are DSM2 so AR6100 RX, AR7000 RX and future DSM2 RX's will work with the modules.

The older AR6000 - DX6 parkflyer RX will not work.

More info to come in the upcoming days.

It's just a wild guess but I truly think Spektrum modules shown will work with our AR6100, and AR7100 DSM2 receivers. This is the same technology just implimented into modules for your existing transmitters, exactly what XPS was attempting/pretending to be doing.....

Thats my guess as well. Its by spectrum, so they are going to use there current stuff, dont see why they would develop new rxs, for these new modules.

Wow, this is great news indeed. I'd be going ape $hit right now but I'm just worried about one thing and maybe John you can shed some difinitive light on this: will we need to worry about noticable latency with these modules (as we would any add on SS module) since it has to convert the PPM signal, DSM2 or not? I wonder if I should just wait for the DX9 release.

As for the question "Who needs 9Channels? Let alone 14" - I can answer an emphatic: I do!

And as Gonzalo mentioned, they sure did a good job keeping this under wraps.

Now that was down right mean!, but funny as hell .

I'm glad I hesitated on buying the DX7 now.

They must surely be releasing new receivers as well, as otherwise they are limited by their current 7 channel receiver.

Cheers from NZ!

Looking at the picture in the ad, wonder what the coaxial looking input is for? Any idea?

seattle, I would bet it will not be as fast as their radios as you mentioned it has to be converted, it has no choice but to be slower, however for those that love their radios it is the way to go imho. I sold my 9C and run a DX7 right now and am very happy I did

I don't think XPS ever intended to come out with a product. I think they wanted someone to buy the technology.

You've got to respect Paul Beard and the Spektrum folks. They didn't use FUD or SPIN, they did it by coming out with products that the rest of the world wants to buy and right about now, in Boardrooms at all the major radio manufacturers, there is someone getting a mortal a$$ whooping because they didn't act fast enough.

FASST, BESST or whatever don't mean a thing if you can't buy it and right now.

I can't believe they left out the Stylus.
A Stylus running a Spektrum module would be one smoking setup.

Spektrum already has M8/M11 modules so the tooling is done. If they wanted to come out with ATX stuff I'm sure they could.

So, does anyone think there will every be a stand alone DX9 system?

I for one would still like that better than a plug in module.
