I have an elite, its my first real heli, since I'm in minnesota it will be a while before I get it out, can't wait, even though I'm pretty sure I'll crash n burn in less than 20 seconds

Great flying helicopter, very responsive and stable.

Dragonus Elite II

rc-expert combo with 3600kv motor and 40 amp esc, I am using the supplied pack until I can get some Thunder-powers, even the 1700mah 20C pack are not bad I get 4:30 minute flight, I am using the smallest pinion provided with the kit 13 tooth, I really need an 11 or 12 but that will have to wait.

I have less than 15 flights on it, but it only took 1 pack to get it dialed in and in trim. It does 3D very well but you need a good gyro 401 works great with a HS55, Can't wait to get a digital servo for tail.

I am in the process of finishing my Dragonus SA model, I figured if I put this into the ground like I have some of my other fleet I will go with the plastic parts and upgrade at a later date or just buy a Pro or maybe an Elite. I Will attach an older photo of my progress.
Keep the Dragonus Intruder flying people.

Dragnous II Building number 3!

I have two of them, working on the 3rd. Great flying helicopter, very powerful and precise. Hobby Lobby will be carrying them in the next few weeks so stay tuned. They will also have all of the parts as well.

What head mixing settings are you guys running? What gives the fastest pitch & cyclic

I have A2 + B2 + C2 (advanced setup) and find it very slow on the cyclic, pitch is great response, I am running around 2800 HS.

I am going to experiment with some different settings to see what happens.

Hey,

I have one of these little machines through my battery suppliers Over-Tech, who are a UK distributer now and I love it.
Really nice machine to build and fly, I enjoy it so much and have hankered after a model this size for some time.

Power setup I am running Over-Tech Poly-PRO 1700mah 20C LiPo's, the A2PRO 450DH Heli Motor and on of the excellent Sky & Technology Quark contollers, a 33a Universal which are all performing great.

Also I have written a review for a UK aeroplane magazine AMI, for inclusion into their heli column. Hopefully that will alert more people to the Dragonus's good qualitys. Two fellow fliers have just ordered theirs on seeing mine, one of which is an SA version and so it will be good to see the plastic version.

Here are some pictures. On this particular day the wind wasn't ideal for a machine of this size but did it care? Nope! :

I am the Proud owner of a Dragonus II intruder. Found that the motor was junk and well the new motor I installed which is an align 430xl. Now with the new motor the plastic swashplate and plastic tail slider cannot handle the torque. I am in the process of rebuilding after a major crash. I am happy over all but in the future I am not going to skimp on getting plastic parts and go with the cnc style. Also I have found flying with the canopy the battery and motor gets hot. Found cutting two vent holes in the front of the canopy near the front most point cures that proble.

HI,

if you need any tech support about the Dragonus, just email me or drop a message here
I'm (e-copter) the helicotper division of A2pro, who are the European distributor of Dragonus. I do not sell them, i only take care of dragonus development and tech support.

There is already a big thread on RCG ( Dragonus Owner thread) where you can find lot of informations, but i'll be happy to help here at RR as well if needed.

If that can help anybody, here are the manual i wrote in english for the Dragonus helicopters, with assembly instructions:

Hi Fabien,

LOL, I did wonder if you had spotted me jumping in the topic.
How are you keeping my friend? I am well and flying as much as I can.

The Dragonus I love it, am awaiting some bits from Over-Tec though as I keep knocking out head dampers flying so hard and when I do flipping it back upright gets interesting
Other than that the machien is awesome, so much fun and all at a cheap to repair price which allows me to fly lower than I would with my Swift for instance.

I have a new motor sat next to me that I need to try out, I think it's got to be an Over-Tec item as the can is purple anodized. It's different to what I have seen before in that it's an out-runner, but in an in-runners case eg. the outside stays still.
Should add a bit more zoom to the model with 3500Kv.

I will email you soon matey for a chat.

Hi Ian

Hehe that is cool to see you there.
I'll be soon in UK and i hve to make you fly a 90 machine from which you will give me some news hehehehe..

I was reading the thread and i was you and said to myself haaaaaaa he finally gets the Dragonus from John !!!!

Regarding the Purple / silver motor you are talking about, i think ( but ot sure) that i saw this one in Nuremberg on John's mini shopping cart(lol) and from what i know, if that is the same that i tested, it fits the Dragonus perfectly for beginners. The motor has a god efficiency and allows to fly longer, it's ideal for mild flying but in hard 3D, you will have to test.

I will ship you out a Gyro ( i'll send it to John) so you can test, and i just hope we cna finally meet, man, that is now close to 5 years we met on RCG !!!!

I love my dragonus too and the rotorhead i'm preparing for it (heavt duty head) should please to you.

BEst regards,
Fabien

Hi Fabien,

Yeah, I managed to get hold of one to write a review for the aeroplane magazine AMI. It was handy actually as I really fancied one of these mid sized models and Century do not have one and so I am not conflicting with that part of my hobby to much.

I seriously enjoy it and we now have two others in my club as well and their owners are enjoying theirs to, one being an Elite like mine the other an SA.

It's also great being involved with Over-Tec as they are a great bunch of guys, will be nice to help them out some more as and when I can promote and test various things. I have just been taken on with the Kokam brand and so am testing their new 30C packs now as well.

You have a new gyro I can test? Great send it to me and I will gladly give it a through test. At present I am running a CSM SL630 which is performing excellent, the tail servo a Futaba S3153 may not be helping me get the best out the gyro but it certainly works well.
I can then transfer the CSM SL630 into another machine to test for the review I am going to write on it.

Speaking of RC gear, I do need to chat to you about servo's as well at some stage. Looking at the A2PRO site the Bluebird ones that fit the Dragonus sound as if they have a very good specification, with karbonite gears as well if I am correct?
The ones I am flying at the moment are ok but not great and I can feel it in their not so great centering on the CCPM controls and so I am on the look out for others.

I have been out today on a job and missed the delivery of spares I think from Over-Tec, once I have those fitted I can then fit the new motor to test.
You dont think it will be to powerful for all out 3D no? The A2PRO I have now certainly doesn't lack power and the model easily flicks this way and that.

When your over let me know & we'll meet up mate, as you say we have chatted for about 5 years now and never once met. We got to change that this year.
Bring the 90 to and we'll have a play.

Speak soon.

Hi Ian,

i'll be in UK for a few days ( maybe weeks?) after the 28th of august.
If i can, i'll bring the new Xtrem head of the Dragonus ( we make a sample production in France next week) and maybe the 90 class heli you wanted to test

Maybe a mini meeting under rain and wind ?

Fabien
