the Logo 10 and 20 helis are popular but if you want to go all out get a Joker. Since you said adopt a "little guy" you would probably want a Logo 10.

Dude,

One thing that enamors the LOGO 10 to glow fliers is that it is in a different size class than what they are used to AND it flies very nicely. It's something that you could take/sneak into a park and practice improving your 3-D skills by flying smoothly. For your first venture into electrics, the smaller number of cells would make it easier to adapt to the new issues that come with electric power.

Cheers!

I am enjoying my new Logo 10 immensely! It is very stable, flies like it is on rails and with the speed controller optimized, KSJ paddles and 14 cells, will out perform any electric that I have ever seen. I am even getting almost too long (if that is possible) a flight time on my 3300 Mah NiMh packs! I am starting to push up the motor timing and power to get good aerobatics and am still getting over 10 minute flights!! Flew it today in 30+ mph gusty winds with no problems and still I got over 10 minute times.
I am using the Hacker 50 15L and the Hacker Master 48 3P Opto controller w /16 tooth pinion ( and several tips from Gary Wright (thanks Gary!) ).

Logo 10

Thank you for your very kind replies

Is the logo10 3D capable?

I dont mean like my 91 powered Extreme. Just something I can do mild 3D with in my back yard.

Will a SuperNova charger do all I need it do with batteries?

What would a person need to get get up and flying?

Any good websites?

Thank you........

The Logo 10 is capable of more than "mild 3D' it can rock 'n roll with ther best of them with the right set up. As I run mine, it is flying the way you are reffering to.

For the Logo 10, the SuperNova would suffice. I use a Schulze isl 6-330d.

You would need the helicopter, a battery plate (even home made) for the battery support out front, motor and speed controller combo, possibly a BEC, charger and battery pack(s). Of course the servos and gyro.

It is not neccessarily cheap to get started, but well worth it. The batteries, if well managed, will last a good time and you won't be buying fuel!

Go to www.rc-direct.com

also: Glen Pedens great site at: www.logoheli.com

I'm not knocking Logo's which I think are fine electric helicopters, but the Joker is simply in a class by itself. If you want the BEST electric heli that's the one to get right now.

Partswise, the Logo may have a slight edge, but I don't think either one has the best availability.

As far as price, neither one is cheap, but the Joker is of course quite a bit more. However when you look at the Joker's parts and put it together (it's pretty much all metal and CF), you'll see that it's really priced VERY reasonably considering the quality.
