Radio - JR & Spektrum DSM > DX7 setup for Mini Titan

Hi,
To learn on, I have just brought a nearly new 2nd hand Mini Titan that had all the electronics in it apart from the receiver. I have put in a AR6100 Spektrum receiver so that I can use with my newly purchased DX7. I now need to set up the radio parameters suitable for a beginner to work with the Titan but have not had much experience in doing so. I have looked at the manual and have a rough idea of things but being new to this I am after some help to make sure I get it right and dont crash on the first flight.

Any advice/help would be useful please

I'll probobly get alot of heat for this, but this is the way i wold set up the heli.

I must say i don't know the m-titan, but ive flown some rexes and some bigger raptors.

For starters, make shure the base-setup is all good. By that i mean servos centered at mid-sticks (no curves or mixes, only linear movement. Make shure the ervos move in the right direction on all functiones (including collective, ive read that the m-titan is somewhat special since the swash moves down when pitch is increased)Also make shure the mecanics are good here aswell, level swash, and links from the servos to the swash long enough to level the washouts(shuld be paralell). Now make links to the mixing arms the right length to make the mixers level (perbendicular to the mast) and make the links from the swash to the flybar the right length. At last make the links from the mixers to the blade grips so the blades are at zero pich. All this with sticks centered and no curves and mixers. Ajust the atv-s so no binding accures. The base-setup shuld now be good.

I personally dont like messing with all kind of pitch curves. I like linear cuves from full negative to full positive. zero pitch at mid stick. Some say this is bad, becourse you culd slam it in the ground if your too heavy on the stick, but i think linear curve is the best way to learn flying. Youll soon be banging around like that anyway...

As for the throttle, you gotta set it to maintain an even headspeed, somethhing like 2400-2600 in normal mode, maybee up to 3000 in idle-up. See the titam manual for suggestiones on walues, this depend on the setup.

Throw in 25-30% expo on the syclick, set the gyro right and you shuld be good to go. I always like to use a training gear the first flight in case i get some mailfunktiones or heavy vibrationes or anything. Get it trimmed out and good luck!

I know you asked for the parameters, but you gotta learn how to do this right yourself..

This is my huble suggestiones. I might have missed something so dont hold me responsible! You guys also have to bare with me regarding my poor english, it is not my first language.

Have fun!
