nocontrol, Are you asking about an aerial photo or just a ground based photo? Aerial I don't know but ground based you can get some nice contrast photos.

Or you can use flash - particularly for the balcony shot.

Get an external flash with a head that you can swivel in all directions. Bounce the light off something white, and the results can be very good.

A bit like a kite, but 500 times more expensive

ground shots are easy, use the HDR function in photoshop, take about 6 different exposures from high to low, then blend them together with the HDR function...

In air, place a radio flash trigger on the camera, and a LARGE umbrella, 6ft or so (to get a larger flash range) on the ground, and light up the person to fill in...

It all depends on the distance and height from the object of course

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience...

They are looking for aerial type photos. I have a 40' wonderpole mast- maybe the ticket will be to shoot from there. Without lighting I don't see the balcony picts working, but I'm open to suggestions- there is a lot of talent and experience here. Can the balcony be filled in with halogen lamps, or would that become a white balance nightmare?

Two shots from an on-going job that's likely to last at least another 18 months

Nice David- Were those with your G9? What settings do you like for overcast weather?

Hogster,

Have you thought about offering Panos of the interior for the decorators? Exterior for Landscape designers??

The last thing I heard my ex say: " It's either me or that damn Helicopter"......

Rob - Thanks Yup those were with the G9 - settings as follows:

Tv mode
1/400s (camera chose F2.8)
EV ±0
ISO 200
Continuous shooting
JPEG Large / Fine
Cloudy White Balance

Basic Levels adjustments in PS, denoised using NoiseNinja and lightly unsharp masked.

ISO400 is useable but I try to stick to 200 if at all possible.

papatango - Mmm good thoughts! I will suggest that to them as the project progresses

David, that is a perfect vertical! Almost as if looking at a blue print. Replicate that shot over the next 18 months and put together a progress slide show.

Swiss cheese mountain.

If I had a dime for every hole in the ground...well, I'd have 30 cents.

Cheers,
Jeff

Very nice colours and contrasts Rotor, i like the first you posted best...
Have you tried straighten the horizon a bit? I think that would make them stand out even more.

Is it in Sognefjorden?

Cheers Chris

I know cricket is a totally crazy game to most of you, but outside USA, it has an incredibly huge following (1+ billion fans in India alone). In the 1930s, Australia produced the greatest ever cricketer, Sir Donald Bradman, whose batting average is almost double the next best before or since.

In the little town of Bowral, they have restored his local cricket oval, and built a museum to honour his achievements.

On friday I sent my A640 43 feet up the Spiderbeam mast to capture the clubhouse and cute "bleachers" with the museum behind it.

Always love your shots Jeff. Makes me hate living here in Michigan this time of year.

What mast do you use?
