FedEx just dropped off the First Production S-76 fuse from ScaleJet. At the moment I am a bumbling, slobbering, drooling, tounge all swollen, can I call in sick today, idiot. I will post more pics tonight. What it will look like when complete:

OMG!!!. You are killing me with all these beautiful helis. What mechanics, blades, OF head (maybe) will be in and or on it? Share everything. What type of turbine will you use? Details...Details.

How high do they go? Are those things hard too fly? How much do they cost?

I have to ask, how do you find the time for all these projects? The Comanche has to take everything out of you, and yet you are starting another awsome project? I have a hard time keeping up with my little Caliber!!!!

Either way, great job and can't wait to see them both finished!!

Rick

Popped the cork. Korbel is not the best champagne but it worked. The Mexican champagne known as "Corona" w 2 limes, is finishing the job. I received the ScaleJet Sikorsky S-76C+ today from ScaleJet International today: http://www.v-eastonline.com/ScaleJetmain.htm "Holly Molly Andy" what a peice of work. This is flippin art dude. The quality is second to none. I have followed this project from day one. Let me tell you, The wait could not have been sweeter.

Rick,

I will not start the build on the 76 until my Comanche is up and flying. I have a date at the NATs and IRCHA with "The Duke". The ScaleJet 76 has been a dream of mine form its conception. I have worked on the S-76 and Sikorsky products for 28 of my 47 years and today, continue to do so. Its in my friggin blood I guess. My kids are all grown, Ro, my better half, is the best Girlfriend in the world, that not only supports me in my hobby, but has here own R-50 and does a pretty good job of flying I might add. I guess I am to the point I can enjoy the fruits of all my hard work over the years.

WOW! That thing has more room inside than the grand canyon. Guess you will be able to put just about any mechanics/power plant you want. Have you given thought to what combo you will be using?

I had the chance to take a flight in a full scale S-76 and it was a very nice, comfortable helo. Had to go way out in the gulf to land on a drill rig. The only down side was the pre-take off speech given to me and the guy sitting by the other door; "your job in case we go in, is to kick open the door, reach under the seat and throw out the life raft". I didn't realy want to hear that!

Well, in a little less than 7 years, I can retire from the Navy, so maybe then. Been working on the SH-60B for the last 5 years, so that's a project I would love to start when I get where you are at. And you have a girlfriend that flies to boot? Brought my last one to the field once and she was only mildly interested...

Anyway, keep those awsome machines going. You are an inspiration for those of us who dream of someday getting into that level of scale!

I will have my 66 at the Seaview Spool-up and it better be flying or I am in big trouble. If the 76 will fit in the truck, I will bring it along for show and tell.

Durn Butch, that 76 is beautiful. If you ever decide to sell the Comanche, please give me the option of bidding first. I just received your Hirobo USMC Cobra and know you set the standard for the rest of us mere hackers.

Boyd my friend,

There are no hackers, and we are all hackers.

You are right Doc, I could not resist any longer. "The Duke" is coming along slowly and starting to look as if... I will be working on this project slowly but surely. It has been looking me in the face for several months. Its that time again when you huddle in the shop for several months because it starting to get too friggin cold to go out side. I have to start counting screws on the full scale reference and taking some notes.

Cleaned up the openings and checked the fit of the major structure and how the parts play together. Just some minor trimming and sanding and it fits like a puzzle.

I threw in a picture of our new Akita Roxie. She just turned 10 weeks and pushing 15lbs.

Thanks Boyd,

Roxie is pretty cool. Girlfriend trains dogs, or trains people to train dogs, so even at 10 weeks she knows who the boss is.

The ScaleJet 76 is a very nice kit. After I cut the openings and installed the structure, I was very pleased of its fit. It will take nothing more than some light sanding and a slight trim here and there and it would be basically ready to bond together.

Its been cold and rainy here on Long Island. I have been dry fitting the frame work for The ScaleJet 76 and worked on the fit of the main landing gear assembly. I am getting very close to bonding the frame work to the fuse.

Some pics of the main landing gear fit and installed on the main retract bulkhead.
