e-MS Composit Hornet > Hornet X-3D Problem

Hello to all, (servo to swash links too long?)
Alright, so I have a problem and would like to know if someone can help me. I just got my Hornet X-3d ARF in today. I have mostly assembled the heli and have confronted a problem. The problem is that all the head linkage measurements are correct per the instructions, but with the servos centered I have a whole lot of negative pitch. I have shortened the servo to swashplate links all the way together and the only option I have is to move the servo arms down one notch. This then interferes with the fore and aft cyclic. Should I cut the ball link shorter to accomidate a shorter overall length? Even the review Eric Larson provides shows a shorter length on the servo to swash, but my links are screwed in all the way. What do I do? Thanks.

Hi,

I presume you mean E021 links are too long ? You can either cut them down or I used some E174 links or E079 links from a H2. Both are shorter and neither need cutting down so you can get E073 in the centre of the pins E115 and get equal pitch travel.

Simon.

Thanks

Thank-you for the imput sir, I assume you ran into this problem as well? I would guess I would have to use a pretty small servo in order to use these links in their unaltered way. Thanks again.

Yes, trim the dead bits off before the thread starts in the plastic.

thanks

Thank-you to all,
I went ahead and did some chopping and now have a perfect set-up. I just wonder what such long ball links are intended for. Oh, and Darkhorse, Cool videos!! Thanks everyone.

I just got this bird in the air today. She flies great and is very predictable. Only thing now that is of little concern is that the main blades track perfectly in hover but it kind of looks like they go out of track when in foward flight? Hmmm?
