The only thing that bugs me about my DX7 is that I do not like the balance - it feels like I need a counterweight hanging out front, or a really light battery, or to move the neck strap hook closer to me by an inch or so.

Has anyone come up with a neat solution?

Good thinking, I will follow your lead and sort it.

I put velcro on the base as a temporary solution, (so it latches to my shirt or sweater), but the velcro messes with the fabric.

I use this tray - you can still hold the Tx as if it was a neckstrap but balances it properly.

Up to now this is the only fault i can find with the DX7 is the ballance,i am reluctantly useing a tray and it seems fine, very strange after all these years hope HORIZON are listening.

I've been thinking about some crazy ideas on how to relocate the battery to the top of the TX. Perhaps external mount. That way the pivot point would still be right between the sticks as it should be.

The design change to fix this would simply involve flipping the battery to the top of the case but that would require that Spektrum design their own TX case rather than using off the shelf JR cases.

That is the first tray I have seen that I might actually use! I wonder if anyone sells them in the US?

I would prefer to keep it simple and fix the DX7, if I can.

I just did my DX7, I did it in a similar way to Andres, using a spacer. I could not bring myself to drill holes in the new case.

Now it feels much more natural, the way it should have been from the factory!

I just opened the radio up and put some lead weights in the top. About 4oz should do it. I have to give credit for the idea to one of the guys at the local hobby store tho. Thankx Lenny

I only noticed the balance for a few flights then never gave it a second thought. i dont see why its such an issue.
