Hi today i noticed that on my DX7 the right stick would travel past the white lines. If you go to the monitor menue you will see the indicator actually travel past the end points. I open the back and sore that the left stick has a limitor on it. Small black pieces 25mm x5mm 2mm. Do we need to do the same for the right stick? To limit travel to 100% insted of original about 120%? If so mine did not come with these.

The throttle/collective stick on most tx's including the DX7 is mechanically limited before calibration because that seems to be the prefered amount of travel. Same thing on my Stylus, and 11-yr-old radio design.

Sounds like yours is out of calibration, but as long as you've got your end points adjusted for zero mechanical conflicts on the heli's servos and linkages you don't need to do anything but fly. If you recalibrate, reset your end points.

Cyclic stick limiter rings ideally should not restrict the original stick movement at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock stick positions -- only to the 'corners'.

I know with my Stylus, the stick throws were longer than I wanted. I put a cyclic ring on that had the same throw as my Futaba (a little shorter than unrestricted Stylus throws) then set the atv's to the cyclic ring. As long as I leave the ring in---I'm good, it seems. Perhaps it's not ideal, but I couldn't think of a reason why not.

Tom, my ring is slightly smaller in diameter than the original throws as well. My thinking is that most guys wouldn't want to give up any increments (resolution) of servo throw by lessening the stick travel.

I've thought about recalibrating the cyclic stick in my Stylus with the ring installed to get back those few lost steps, but when I figure the difference compared to my skill level it wouldn't be noticable anyway.

If I have to do a recalibration again I'll probably do it with the ring on.

Makes sense and I hadn't thought of the loss of resolution. Obviously the more you restrict the throw, the more loss of resolution. How do you recalibrate sticks anyway? (That may be way too big a question, but perhaps it's just a function on the radio or something like that.)

On a Stylus you have to access the Service Menu to recalibrate. I think it's that way with most brands.
