i found this heli at my local hobbie shop. the price is really good and it comes with a free crash kit with extra main blades tail blades and tail boom and assorted other repair parts.
my question is has any one heard of Kalt heli's and are they still in bussiness. if not do you guys think that a person could learn on this heli and then just toss it when iam done learning?
since i'am new to heli's i would like to spend as little as possible on the first heli to make sure that i want to fly them before i spend a 1000.00 dollars on a heli.
the only expierence i have with heli's is g2 , i've been flying planes for years. so what is your guys opinion???

kalt is not in bussiness any more as far as i know, parts are getting kinda scarce.you would be better off with a raptor 30 v2 by thunder tiger or one of the other 30 brands the raptor 30 will take you from learning all the way through 3d plus the raptor you can upgrade it to a 50 size machine once you learn to fly if you want a little bigger machine.

Kalt Baron 30 MX

I just sent you a private email. Please read it.

The Kalt Baron 30MX was the collective pitch version of the original fixed pitch Baron 28. Dont confuse the Baron 30MX with the Kalt Baron from a few years ago.

The Baron 30 MX was made from approximately 1985 until 1988. This in a very "old" helicopter that is long out of production. No parts are made for it any longer. In fact, Kalt, as a company, is out of business as well.

The Baron 30 MX had a metal frame, wire drive tail rotor, plastic swashplate, wood servo frame and a really bad clutch that used little pices of wire for clutch springs...

You would be much better off buying something newer that you can get parts for in case you crash.

Forget it... First off, Kalt is no longer in business. Second, the original Baron the one with the metal frames is a dionsauar - good luck getting it to fly. Third, you will never find a single part for it. stick with something new.

Invest in a realflight G2 , then you will be able to fly quite a few different aircraft including helis . They have a trainer in the sim with training gear , that is what I used to learn with before I tried the real thing . The reset button is alot cheaper that hitting the ground . You can also download different heli's on their site and others and see what you like . I would also do alot of reading on the web to see what other people like . My first heli I purchased the middle of last year was a sceadu 50 , now I want a freya .

They are addicting
