well this t-rex 450S and DX6 combo is my 4th heli. but the first 3 were "trim and fly" helis (CP Pro, lama 3, CX2)
programing the DX6 has been frustrating and intimidating
well ive got the servos in. i needed to reverse the pitch servo. it was backwards in all swash movements. got it reversed, it fixed it.
but my left/right swash is backwards. when i go left it goes right.
ive read the manual 12 times, and watched the finle$$ vids about 6 times. his futaba menus look so simple and easy, i cant say the same for the DX6. in his futaba he has a swash menu. that reverse the ccpm mixing not just an individual servo, and reversed both servos in just that movement/mix(left/right swash). i cant figure out how to do it.
how do i reverse the left and right swash movements?

im so frustrated. ive got this new shiny t-rex and DX6 and cant do nothing with it. just ready to give up. i wanna get in the air!!!!

well ive got some other questions too. ill post them up at lunch. so if you see this thread back at the top its probly me lost again

ok i got it, had to change the cp2 to -60% from the stock +60% thanks TonyF

now i got a couple of other questions (im a detail freak

)

1. under travel adjustment:
the pitch, throttle, elev, ail are all set to -100
and the rudder, and gyro are set to +100
why is this?

2. under the CCPM mixing: (several questions)
they are all set to 60%. is that a normal percetage? what happens if you raise or lower all 3 channels? what would happen if you raised or lowered only one? what does that percentage represent?

1. Move the associated stick or switch one direction or the other and you will see an opposite value to adjust.

2. Swash Mix is travel adjustment for all three servos at once - Adjust CP6 to your desired amount of Collective Pitch range - Adjust CP2 to your desired amount of Aileron deflection - Adjust CP3 to your desired amount of Elevator deflection.

so ive only got 60% swash movement? (default % for ccpm movements)

question #3 if there set at 60%
ie. if i give full left aileron, the swash will only tilt 60% what its capable of? even though the travel adjustments are all set to 100%?

in seting up the idle up throttle pitch(stunt mode DX6 calls it)
it goes "TLS" (throttle curve, low position [point 1], stunt [idle up]) set at 100%
then goes to "T2S" (thottle curve, middle position [point 2], stunt [idle up]) set at 90%

then it goes back to TLS the low position!
the book shows it should go to "THS" (throttle, high, stunt) but it doesnt. it goes scrolls back to low position. it had a high position in the "normal" mode. does it know that stunt mode/idle up the low and high positions need to be the same? and automatically do this?

can someone confirm there DX6 is missing "THS" like mine? even though the book specifially shows it should be there (page 80)

Your radio and heli are capable of different amounts of throw - Your radio TRV ADJ has a range of 150% each way - Most people leave it at 100% each way to leave room for trimming etc - Your Swash Mix will work as a percentage of those values just like your Throttle Curves work as a percentage of the Throttle TRV ADJ values -

(TRV ADJ values = % of total servo throw - Curves & Mixes = % of TRV ADJ values)

#3 - Get out your pitch gauge and adjust the Swash Mix values to your liking or the mechanical limits of the heli whichever comes first -

#4 - THS is either always 100% or the same value as THN I don't remember which - But you can only adjust the low and mid points.

#5 the battery life on my brand new DX6 seems to suck.

is this normal? any fixes?

If it's the stock 600mah that came with it then yeah it's normal - I upgraded my battery to a 2100mah nimh to get decent run times - The DX7 comes with a 1500mah nimh which I still swapped for the 2100mah I had in my DX6.

ug this is getting frustrating. now the nothing works. ie inputs on transmitter do nothing to the heli. no responce

when i plug the battery in i get nothing. no led on hte reciever, no responces. nothing
so i tried this binding thing. plug the binding plug into the bat port, and the battery into an empty slot. i get a flashing red (or yellow not sure im color blind) LED. the book says i should get a BLUE flashing LED. so then i press the bind button on the back and turn on the transmitter. it says wait 5 seconds and both TX and RX LEDs should go solid green. the trasmitter seems to, but the reciever just keeps blinking red. and still no interacion.
ive tryed it several times. any ideas?
it was working when i left friday. but i let the transmitter go super dead, and accidently left the battery pluged into the reciever. ive recharged both. i cant get anything to happen.
any ideas?

Slow down and take a few deep breaths.

I've never seen anything light up blue on my AR6000. I'm pretty sure it's a typo in the manual.

You're doing the right thing with binding. How long did you give it? It seems to take more than 5 seconds for me.

well last night i spent another 3 hours working on it. still nothing. even went to the LHS for help. still not working.
ive tryed binding it the way the book says about 39563489 different times, and then tryed my own made up methods another 3049873 times. tryed pressing it anywhere from 1 second to 30 seconds. its been two days now of just trying to get the RX to "hear" the TX. im SO pissed. i woke up this morning in a cold sweat from a nightmare about this damn DX6

so frustrated i want to just throw it across the room!

at lunch im gonna see if spectrum has a 1-800 tech line, see if they can help, then im gonna head back to the LHS for more head banging frustration.
