Gasser Model RC Helicopters > Thinking on a gasser - questions ??

Hi

I've been thinking about a gasser for a while now but never asked the obvious.

How do they differ from Glow machines in their flight characteristics, and they feel really heavy in flight, I guess they are stable, can they perform aerobatics with ease or is it a struggle? (Sorry never even seen one fly !!)

Are they 3D capable (Not mad 3D just normal flips, inerted flight etc)?

The main reason for getting one is to be a camera ship however I would like to use it occasionaly for normal flight.

What flight times do you get on a tank ?

My machine of choice is the XCell graphite machine, purely for the fact that I can get one for a good price and its light as I am restricted in the UK to weight limits when flying with camera eqpt, any other would put me over the 7kg limit.

The XCell comes with the G23 and hopefully it will be good enough for the purpose.

Any thoughts.

Lee, they actually fly lighter than they weigh. Must be the torque thing working in our favor. I have a Bergen gasser, and love the way it flys. Yes they can do all the moves, the difference being, these helis fly in a larger window. Flight times are over thirty minutes.

hello lee,
i recently bought an xcell gasser , its really a very nice heli heli.

I want to make it a camera ship also,so far i have only built it and waiting for some uppgrade like full metal head and parts ,bergen muffler .

I ll go try it soon to break in the engine and tune it .

I have to decide then if i put a gov on it or not, i dunno what sensor i ll put on it ,i am a bit affraid of getting dust or crap in an optical sensor, so i maybe order a stock magnet sensor.

i hope u will have fun with any gasser u will get , but the xcell sure look alot better and powerfull than my rap 30 lol .

Heliraptor,
The Bergen Gasser will do anything a 60 will do and for about 1/10th the price in fuel. It feels pretty much the same in flight. The only time you notice the extra weight at all is during hard stops and such when the inertia takes the heli a touch further to stop. Other than that and intimidation of the bigger motor, they fly just as well as a glow.
