I just bought a GY611 from my LHS on a whim. It looked so cool and shiny. Anyway I want to install it in my TRex 600 and I'm currently using a DX7 radio (which is working well).

The manual for the 611 says "always use the GY611 with a PCM proportional system" because of potential noise issue with FM.

Is it going to work with the totally different digital DX7 system? I assume so because my DX7 works fine with my 401 but if anyone is actually using the DX7/611 combination I'd like to know. Thanks!

Oh and my TRex has a voltage dropdown lead that goes in between the tail servo and the gyro. I assume that is still to be used with the 9256 servo, right?

It should work great on the DX7! A lot of people have been running the 601/611's on DX7's with no probs. The AR7000 is supposed to be immune to the radio noise issues found on 72Mhz.

And YES! you still use the dropdown diode between the gyro amp and the servo.

GY611 and DX7 work just fine together.

the reason for running the 611 on pcm is due to its sensitivity to RF noise and pcm's ability to filter thru most of that. Because the DX7 uses 2.4ghz to prevent anything else from even being on the same channel, theoretically there should be little to no noise on your frequency.

Plug gain into gear chanel and adjust gain with travel adjust. Set gain to 36 on the 611 screen and thats job done.

Currently flying 2 601s and a 611 gyro with DX7. Not a single issue to report.

you only use delay

if you are not using a digital servo...

i have found on another thread that it might be caused by sloppy tail grips on my trex-600

sloppy tail grips? like they wiggle when you try to change pitch or they don't hold the blade tightly?

where is the other thread?
