If Spektrum do decide to ever make a higher end box than the DX7,i hope they make the current receivers compatable.

I think if JR ever get their brand name badge on it,especially if it evolves into something like a 10SX type functional box
it would be bad news for us consumers.Once that happened JR and the dealers would feel duty bound to start chargeing JR/Futaba like prices for it

Spektrum is already closely related to JR. They are a Horizon Hobby company/division/whatever and the dealers are already "charging JR prices" for Spektrum gear.

Spektrum DX7 - $349 MSRP
JR 7202 - $329 MSRP

I doubt you'll see a JR badged 2.4GHz radio in the US.
Why would Horizon import JR Spread Spectrum when they own Spectrum?
Not to say you won't see a DX9 in the near future.

I have Spektrum for my RC truck and love it. But I have heard that it is risky using it in the air.

Yeah , trucks are best kept on the ground .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I love programing with the 9303. A friend of mine uses that radio, and its a really easy radio to program. I would consider it easier to work with than my 10X.

DX7 /DX9 Nah not me.....here's why

I will buy the 2.4 Ghz module from extreme power systems for my 9ZHS WC2 radio and will fly with a far superior radio on 2.4 ghz band width. Here is the link.

I have no idea what I will end up with. All I can say is when I do get one, it will not be one of the current offerings. If they want my money, they will have to try harder.

That's making some very large assumptions about Spektrum's next radio, Futaba not releasing a 2.4GHz module (Futaba's been doing SS for years), and the reliability of a third party add-on that's almost vaporware at this point. In the mean time, a lockout or someone stepping on your frequency could cause a crash that costs more than $350 to fix.

Do you use eight or nine channels with the 9ZHS? After seeing some of the top pilots on the plant fly the DX7, I wonder how many people really need a supposedly better radio.

BTW, at the LV FunFly, a Spektrum rep said their boards are made here in the US, then shipped to JR for assembly into the radio.

is the programming the same between the 7202 and the DX-7? Who thinks the DX-9 will have the same programming as a 9303? The only radio I know really well is the 9C so I'm just curious as to what other people think about the JR programming... My 9C is sold and DX-7 is on backorder and it's driving me nuts.
