| Raptor paint.I won't make any jokes about the canopy but I will tell you how I painted mine and it turned out quite nice.
I painted my stock Raptor 30 canopy with Parma FasKolor. This is a waterbased paint. I found it in my LHS but it wasn't on the airplance/heli side, it was over in the car/buggy area. It's really made for Lexan car bodies, etc...
I didn't prime it at all, I just washed it with warm soapy water and let it dry really well and shot the paint right on it with my airbrush.
Several light coats and don't handle it much after painting, the paint will chip quite easily at first....After I finished the paint, I shot LusterCoat Crystal Clear in the spray can over the color to seal and fuel proof. I crashed it hard once and the paint held better than on any canopy I have ever seen. It only needed a few touch ups to make it whole again.
If you want to tape a mask out for a color change you will have to shoot some clear over the paint first so the paint won't lift with the tape when you pull it off.
You can see those canopies in my gallery and my website.
I did a Raptor 30 fiberglass aftermarket canopy this same way and it worked even better. I've done a stock Raptor 60 and had no problems with it either, one thing different on the 60 I used Krylon Clear instead of LusterCoat.
If you want a complex paint job you may be better served getting a fiberglass canopy and using epoxy or polyurethane paints.
