I was looking at the new dx7 system and noticed a possible issue with the ac wall charger. The Dx7 has a 1500maH battery for the tx and rx. The charger is a standard 50maH output. This would take about 30 hours to charge the battery using the standard wall charger that comes with it. What is up with that. I wonder why Horizon did not include the heavy duty wall charger with the dx7??? The have included this heavy duty wall charger with other systems using larger capacity batterys in the past. Just wondering if anyone has looked at this and are most using other fast chargers to charg the tx\rx???? Has anyone had any issues with fully charging the tx\rx with the stock ac charger that comes with the system???? Any response would be greatly appriciated.

Issue? What's the issue? Do you totally discharge your batteries before you charge them? I doubt it.

I am using the charger for slow charging my Nimh packs for the first time. They really like the slow charge for proper form.

Anyway, it's not an issue unless you fully discharge each time you fly and I don't know anyone who does that.

Hi,

I just chopped off the plug from the charger that came with the DX7 and now use my Swallow charger @200ma to charge it.

No charger in my Dx7 either - Not bothered though - I charge it via my Ultra duo 30 -- it has a second output for Tx's and Rx's variable from 100 Ma to I think 500 Ma
Love the set by the way

The DX7 does come with a charger. If you guys really didn't get one then I would go back to where you bought them and get it. You paid for it.

Yep, I didn't see at first where you guys were.

I guess if this were your first and only radio you have to buy a seperate charger.

That doesn't seem right.

Happy new year Tosh!

I ordered mine from the states and it came with a 110 volt charger - the only bit that I can use from it is the plug that goes into the chassis of the DX7

Sorry to her that all of you in the UK did not get a wall charger with your DX7. My point is that everyone else in the industry gives you a wall charger with a radio system that will charge the tx/rx battery overnight. Even if it is a higher capacity battery, they will include the higher charge rate charger.
Even the jr-7202 has the same batteries yet has a proper charger,at 110mah each side????
Would you want to wait 30-36 hours to go flying again, or be one of the poor people who didn't catch the addendum on jr's site about needing to charge for this long?? other wise guys will be flying with only partially charged batteries, how many crashes will this cause?????

To be fair it`s a joke but l use a Schulze to charge just about everything anyway.



Even my mobile if the kids have nicked that charger.

I only use a fast charger myself. I just thought that some one messed up with the ac wall charger. It is a little week for the batteries.

It is up to the Distributor (ie Helger) to supply you with a UK charger. As the DX7 is a HH device then being supplied with a US wall charger is in the same league as Chocolate Teapots & T!ts on fish.

When MacG's get the JR sets in, they also come without chargers and we have to add seperately sourced chargers into the package. Perhaps Helger haven't sourced a UK charger for the DX series yet ??

There again, if any of the DX users in the UK also have JR sets, then they can use the charger supplied with the JR sets.
