I just put a DSM2 6100 Rx in my Trex SE to use with my DX7. With only 6 channels (no Aux2) in the 6100, how do you remotely adjust the gain if the gear channel is used to turn on/off the AVCS on the 401 gyro? I found that the "gear" channel can be used EITHER to turn on/of the AVCS OR adjust the gain, not both. I cant seem to get it to do both. I discovered this when I tried to adjust the gain and couldn't find the adjustment unless I assigned the gyro function to the "gear" or "AUX2" channels. At first, I assigned it to Aux2 so it appeared that I had both the switch and the gain control available but Aux2 doesn't exist on the Rx so assigning it was useless.

Is there any other way to control the gyro gain with only 6 channels?

I DID notice that when I went to Idle Up 1, the wagging went away.

You will plug the remote gain wire into channel 5(gear channel) and use the channel 5 end point to control the gain. With that setup you don't need to use the GYRO SENS menu.

OK...so that means the AVCS on/off switch simply moves the "trim" for channel 5 to below the 50% mark?

By End Point, do you mean Travel Adjust?

Well kinda I guess. THe channel 5 travel adjust goes from -150 to +150. Set the channel 5 travel to -80 and +80...you will have to toggle the gear switch up and down to adjust both. Then with the gear switch up plug the batt in the heli and see if the gyro turns on in AVCS mode(heading hold) if not unplug the battery and flip the gear switch down and try again. Depending on how you want the switch to activate HH mode just reverse channel 5.
