Compass Knight 50 > Knight 3D in the USA

I happened to get a chance to see the Knight 50 3D for the first time. This machine is loaded with feature's that I have never seen on a 50. I did snag a picture for all to see I am hoping to be there for the first flight and will get more pics and details.

I did get a chance to get some pics of the 3D on Sunday. This one is equipt with upgraded fiberglass canopy, 9255's, 611, Multi Gov, one piece Hatori, Hyper 50, G3 reciever, 1500 ma nicad, 92mm tailblades, 610 main's. The weight came in at 7 lbs 9 oz!!

The great news for the US is it's expected arrival is end of Feb 07 !!

Great pics! Looks like the mini-Aurora will release before the larger version. I'm sure I'll have to have one of these.

This should be real interesting ! Going to have to also try one of these out for kicks.
Been banging the sport around in the winter and it's forward thinking design made it real impressive in flight !

The 3D looks like a whole new level in 50 design.

Got to respect the movers in this industry and this little company is doing just that.

In my opinion the Knight 50 sport is the best flying 50 out right now. I can only imagine how the 3D is going to fly...

Fun times in the hobby if you like and fly 50's!!!

Is the frame Carbon fiber, Fiber Glass or Aluminum...???

Frames are G10, push pull ccpm, very stiff braced frames, unique anti vibration engine mount and low friction tail belt drive.

rumor has it the price will be between 400-500 bucks...."unique" anti vibration engine mount?....it looks like the Avant engine mount?

Engine is de coupled from the frame by poly-elasto spacers in the main engine mount with a top locating ring around the end of the crank case to maintain alignment. Not like an Avant.

The retail hobby shop price is going to be $450. The 3D parts will be in line with the current part prices.

The whip antenna that is on the 3D is the deans with a wire tie and head dampner.

There is a website being developed for this product line. I also heard they are adding dealers on a regular basis.

Is that the canopy that will come with the production version? That is the only thing on this heli that I do not care for. It looks too small for the frame. But this is only my opinion and I am probably going to get one when they are available here.

Yes that is the size of the canopy. I think that the picts that I took do not do it justice. In flight it did not appeare that small. Glad to see the compass group is growing!!
