| Finally, and with a lot of trial and error but I'm taking pictures now. I love my xcell and mount from airfoil. It took a long time to build and my experience with heli's was very little but I got it.
John helped a lot, I have nothing but good things to say abut the guy.
I run "Redline" synthetic oil and 91 octane Texaco gas. This is as per Zenoah's manual.
John reccomended some carb settings and those appear to be running great.
Got some tail hits prior to John's assist.
Plug always looked good.
I have a shake that goes on at a certain low rpm but once I go past that point, all is well. When I run the xcell on just it's skids and not the mount, on the concrete, the heli shakes at that rpm a little too hard to be comfortable. It's not the blades spinning themselves out because it happens everytime. On the mount, the foam absorbs the shake enough to make it tolarable. The shake only appears for about 1.5 seconds during a gradual spin-up or spin-down. When hovering, heli is almost vibration free. I'm stumped on this one.
Thank God for Realflight, that's a powerful tool for the novice.
Xcell's manual is great and the parts that came with my kit were all there. Really, this has been a learning curve that has been a lot fun for me but I sure ain't done yet!
Here is a link to a picture I got on Sunday between storm fronts.
