i am just hoping for the heli to be able to handle loops rolls 720 stall turns and stationary rolls. not really up to the hardcore 3d stuff yet. but these shafts are light years above the hardened crap they are selling.

Swash Pin

Hello Everyone
I had and interesting discovery last night

Basically, I was finishing up a few shafts, and needed to remove the v2 head on my HDX to size the top of the shaft for the swash bearing and head

While dissasmbling the head, the pin on my swash plate slid right out of the swash!

I am sure this happened because of the shock and jarring from numerous bent shafts, but it is something to watch out for

The pin slid in/out way to easy, so I put some sleeve retainer in the hole, and let it cure

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up

Scale Bodies

Anybody know what scale looking canopies might work on the HDX?

I am thinking that basically any canopy sold for a blade CP pro might fit, but wanted to see if anybody has tried anything

Thanks

scale flying is probally the best thing for this heli.

Scale Bodies

Have you tried pushing it at all Zac?

Just wondering how it holds up.

I cant imagine the thing will bend at all. I took a scrap one (that would be one that I screwed up) and bending it in a vise with my body weight (200 pounds), it did not even have a wobble afterwards

Did the same thinng later on (much harder) and it snapped.

Thanks for testing them out

i am running the hdx300 motor and headspeed is around 2600. i know the shaft will hold i am worried about the heli. i made it through some fff rolls and some inverted hovering but man it is small and can get away from you fast.

this heli is crazy one flight it is smooth and steady charge a pack then WOW not a vibration but an oscilation forward and backward like it is going over big waves. very slow but really crazy. 1st heli to ever do this on me. i am thinking these little HS-55 can not hold the swashplate with the high headspeed. i love these servos in my planes but i think i may need some different servos so what are you guys running? HS-55? i am going to get this heli flying perfect very soon

Did you tach the headspeed cause what your describing is sometimes from a low headspeed.

you may be right about headspeed because i dialed in some more throttle in idle up and the heli is steady. stationary flips no problem fff smooth but the heli is small my trex 450 gets away this thing gets away even faster. don't look away while flying it will be a spec. headspeed no around 2800. 2500 was good but did oscilate every once in awhile tony thanks again for the shaft that is a huge downfall with this heli. not sure what they are thinking selling those weak ass shafts

Head Speed

Hi Zac
I had the same problem, and found that if I increased head speed and decreased pitch, it was much better

I have a question for those of you who have ordered the ejectore pins, What shipping method did you choose, it seems they want soemthing put in for company name. Also how much was the shipping on the method you chose?

Shipping Method

I used my name for company name

Shipping for normal (UPS ground ) was around 3-4 dollars. I live in the NE, so it was here the next day

They sent me a shipping confirmation with tracking number the same day I placed the order

tony mount the gyro as close to the main shaft as possible. i have the esky HH gyro and it is mounted were the tail boom meets the frame and it works great. with such a small heli though you can mount it anywhere and it will work. placement more critical on 50-90 size helis

Gyro

Thanks Zac
I was just looking to move as much forward as possible, for balance more than anything

I had it on the boom and it worked fine. I guess I just cant stop tinkering

sweet... almost well i got my rods today and sweetness. they are straight as an arrow and strong everything is perfectly balanced now... except i am having gyro problems after flying for about 10 seconds the tail wags horribly. i have tried almost any setting in my radio for gain but nothing works. one of my main servos seems to be flaky. could that be the problem?

this sucks everythings ready to fly and now my gyro acts up
