the v2 tx head is dialed in and the hdx300 flew and flew well. more nervous flying this heli then a trex raptor 50 or even a hornet. if this goes in it will really suck but it does look good while flying. tomorrow flips and rolls we will see thanks for all the help would have been impossible without it

just got my drill bits and i was just wondering how long it takes you guys to drill trough a main shaft. it seems like a very tedious process

Thanks

ok.. i have been drilling on a non ejector rod shaft for about 4 min and have only made a dent. its not a stock shaft i got trough one of those like butter. so i guess ill just have to wait for the ejector rods. hopefully later today

these main shafts really do suck, one roll bent main shaft heli falls to ground. all servos stripped and to top it off the new shaft i have is not even straight brand new. what the hell sure is hard to eliminate vibrations when parts are not straight well it flew great for a few minutes

Shafted

Zac
I gave up on those since ARISTO1963 got me going on the ejector rods

I have been using my second one (first one on its way to you) for a few days, and it still turns perfectly true. Yesterday, I was flying in the backyard, and a gust forced a tipped landing, blades hit the ground (which is very soft right now)

An old shaft would have been toast with a minor mishap like this, but after cleaning the mud off the blades, the thing was just as wobble free as when it started!

I am making a few for DucatiRider, so ther will be three of us testing them.

I ordered enough shaft to make a bunch of them, so if you are interested in a couple more, I basically am do them (for testing purposes) for cost of materials plus 2 dollars (to cover drill bits and whatever waste there is)

You should have the first one early this week.

Sit tight, I wish I had known about this in the beginning too

New Shafts

I have been flying in the garage all day (weather is BAD today), and what a huge difference

I also made some other mods today. I took off the boom supports, tail fin, and clamp. I also made an aluminum extension plate on the fron, to support the battery and ESC. I basically did all of this to balance things out better. Made a big difference

I noticed that when I fly in the garage, I get a little glitch when I get near the garage door opener. Anybody ever experience this before?

Have a great week!

Yep

Same idea, slightly different approach

I basically took out the square frame spacer, and made one from aluminum and stretched it forward. it goes over the tubular spacer, and has three large holes in the end of it to keep it light.

after new gears

after replacing gears in all 3 hs-55 gears i can not get these servos centered. i can not take it anymore any secrets to centering these things at half stick.

servo gears

Hey Zac, I'm new to the HDX300 group, but not new to changing servo gears. When you put the last gear on, be sure to check to see if you have it centered in the stops. good luck, Mike

the little hs-55 have a sloted shaft so it can really go on one way and the servos work fine just can not get the ccpm setup like it was before the crash

tony thanks for the new shaft. what a difference, this thing is super strong you can tell by just holding it. no vibrations at all when hovering. thanks again and let me know when i can pay you for a spare. i think i will try some more aggressive flight in a few days. i want to keep it together for at least a few days.
thanks
zac

Good Luck

Zac, I hope it works as well for you as it has for me

Those shafts are incredibly strong

I am making more right now, and when they are done, I'll let you know

I must have put on at least 15 flights this weekend (only one last night due to a tight schedule

Anyway, sorry to hear about the servo damage, let us know how your testing goes, since I am not yet comfortable doing any agressive flying with my limited experience

Have fun

zac one of the things i have been asking for since i started telling guys about the ejector rods,is to try some 3d with them.these shafts are very high 76 rockwellc hardness with around 45 rockwell center.i have used erods of this size to drive out hardened plastic sprue's 5 inches by 1/2 inches with a 2lb ball peen hammer without bending.the 2mm erod tail shaft should also hold up,even though i still prefer the 3mm i made.
